While there are a growing number of good places to eat in Bentonville it is a short enough drive that going up there for dinner is very manageable.

South outdoor is fun but I'm not a fan of the view. I prefer a sideline view as opposed to an endzone view personally.

I like the corner seats in south outdoor. I like the sight lines in those. I feel like I can see everything from a good height.

seems appropriate to go here- this thread on the tiger rant is cute. granted, several folks are nice but it seems like the bulk of the insults come from people that...well let's just say make me laugh that they have the gall to criticize others considering they seem like lennies about to squeeze poor little rabbits to death.

quote:

More backwood, country arse inbred folks than you will see at any other sec venue, but you have to understand. They are ALL that state has. No pro teams or any other major college program.
They are passionate about their team but embarass themselves in the process, but they don't get that.

i can't think of anything more embarrassing than the way many lsu fans have acted since their loss to bama. you'd think it was the nc game all over again.

quote:

The 2002 last second loss in LR was the only time in my life I felt threaten after a college football game. It was a horrible and unnecessary bad experience. I have no interest in ever returning to the state of Arkansas, too many other safe options to visit.

quote:

I know many Arkansas fans and make no mistake about it Hog fans hate LSU more than any team on their schedule. They lost all their rival games when they entered the SEC and the "boot" was created and LSU never really took the game as a rival game.

When the game was moved from Thanksgiving this made the hog fans hate LSU even more, I am telling you this is the game of the year they circle.

Hog fans have a chip on their shoulder and coming from a very good friend in the know Arkansas moved the game from Little Rock to Fayetteville because of the colder weather and would be to their advantage and when the game was moved a week earlier this ruined the advantage. This week they are crowing thinking they will get the weather advantage

that makes so much sense.

quote:

I sure hope the fans are better than Little Rock. That was the worse away game experience I ever had. Swore I would never return but I'm in Missouri visiting friends so it's an easy drive. I'll be bundling up and expecting to see a snow game.

I don't, as hard as it is for me to do so, blame them. The butthurt is strong in LSU right now. So, like a drunken octopus, they lash out. Until the Bama game they still could cling to the belief that they could miracle their @ss into the playoffs.

Well they didn't. So suddenly we are (I know!) the worst fanbase in the SEC. Possibly the world! Drunken European fans who throw bananas on the field to mock racial minorities are saints compared to us!

We are the ultimate evil! More so then Walmart!

LSU and its fanbase is coming to grips with the facts that we, based on so much evidence, have realized. It Just Is Not Our Year. So we are the bad guys.

Honestly, I think LSU has some awesome fans who travel well and love the rivalry we have with them. This isn't your year guys. Look, we can throw piss balloons at you, but that is really kind of nasty.

It is Arkansas. As much as you want us to heap scorn and abuse on you... we might cut you off when you are trying to get a prime parking place. That is about as far as we go.

I agree with Arksulli completely. Fabricated crap to make them feel better. Between all of the grass eating, losses, and so called officiating mistakes, they are at their wits end! Saying our fans are the worst is like the sewer calling a penthouse the reason for their flushed problems. Crazy, but reality for them is that they are mediocre.

We are as well, have been much more so for a few years now. Trending up. Them????

if anything, I would think LSU fans would respect us more than most.

Fanatical over our team, passionate when others have more bandwagon fans in the sec. We wear our colors proud, tailgate well, party hard, chant loud, but yet are hospitable to our opponents..

Just like great Cajun folks...

Just typical dumbassery from some of the ignorant fans. I know a number of LSU fans who have settled in my area post-Katrina and they have no desire to go back, not because it is "better" here, but just because they determined it is a good place to live and raise a family in spite of any preconceived notions they may have had.

Like much in life it is what you choose to make of it once you become reasonably informed. Lots of places across the land have much to offer if you are willing to learn and take advantage of it as opposed to clinging to some stereotype.

Curious to hear how the Tiger fans liked Fayetteville (other than the game, obviously).

Thanks for the information, hogs. Attempted to get dinner around 8:00 Friday night at Doe's and then Bordino's and then Theos, but the crowds were insane. Saturday, we parked by Baum around 1:30 and walked over to Foghorn's (food was marginal - had one really smoking bartender though). Stayed at Foghorn's until 5:30 and then caught the bus to the stadium.

Overall, the landscape wad nice, the scenery was as expected , and I found the area very pleasant. I would definitely make the trip again.

As far as the game, we were completely dominated. I felt as though Arkansas would win the game, and you got it done. Congrats.

Yeah. Dickson (and really most of Fayetteville) is a madhouse on game weekends. Sorry that you didn't get to eat at any of the places you tried.

Foghorn's is okay for what it is: a sports bar where most of the dishes are ready made from Sysco or Ben E. Keith.

Anyway, glad you had a good time. Hopefully the weather is a little more cooperative for your next trip up.

We had a nice trip. Friday night we ate at Farells and then bar hopped. Saturday we ate lunch at Foghorns and walked around the stadium. I thought there would have been more people tailgating, but I'm hoping the weather kept them away. We made our way back to Dickson on Saturday before the game and had some more drinks till gametime. I have to say yall have some hot arse women. Overall the trip was great and I'm glad the snow and rain held out because those hills have to be hell with ice. The game sucked for us but my hats off to the Razorback team and coaches. They looked like they were ready and our team was still hungover from last week. I hope to make it back there someday and do it all over again.
