“We are planning on staying here. I don’t know what’s in my future right now, but I am not ready to totally retire and get out of baseball. I am thinking about going back into professional baseball, possibly scouting, maybe player development, working with some younger players in the minor leagues. I don’t know anything definitive at this point but I am not done working. I still want to keep working and still want to stay in baseball.”

Always liked watching Jorn take that long slow walk to the mound. His calming effects on pitchers was awesome to watch.

Sucks he had to fall on the sword for DVHs pitching evaluation and recruiting.

I hate it that Coach Jorn had to go out on a bad year.

He meant more to this program than many will ever realize.

You'll be missed Coach. Enjoy your retirement, you've certainly earned it.

Nobody needed to fall on the sword. DVH can have a year like this and change nothing if he wants to. He has plenty of equity here.

He's probably at a point in his life where taking a step back isn't a bad idea. Do a little scouting, maybe work a bit in the minor leagues. Keeping his hand in the game but not having to put up with the daily grind of being a pitching coach.

I hope he enjoys his retirement and I appreciate all the work he's done for us over the years.

He should but sadly some fans have extremely short memories and unrealistic expectations.

"Retired."

When you say you'll keep working, you're not retired. Looks like DVH told him to resign or get fired.

DVH had 14 years and he can't even make the tournament, sucks that he put all the blame on Jorn.

There are sewers that aren't as full of shite as you are.

Jorn was here until he decided he didn't want to be here. I'm pretty sure after this rough year he just didn't want to go through that much grind. He wants to stay in baseball, because he loves it.. but work less. He's retiring.

Of course you have such a hate boner for DVH that you'll try to say what "really" happened.

In his statement he clearly said he's not retiring. He's resigning, and this is a classic case of resign or get fired.

all of it is speculation, other than he is gone.

So, who care why or how?

Just move on down that road to the next assistant to help DVH get back to Omaha, which he has done often....

A successful assistant will arise, for a successful ball coach! WPS!

Like Kendall Rogers said, Arkansas is one of the top pitching coach jobs in the country, DVH will have tons of high quality coaches lined up with interest in the job.

It was time. Our pitching has been declining rapidly, both recruiting wise and development of those recruits.

PG currently ranks our 2016 class #4 in the country, and 10 of our 20 commits are pitchers (6 LHP).

Making the SEC tournament is an unrealistic expectation?

Winning the SEC once in a decade is unrealistic?

Yeah I could care less if we win the SEC as long as we make the CWS.

THIS....

I like Mike Anderson, ALOT, but to compare the two is ridiculous.
