Did Arkansas ever contact this guy about coaching before we anchored the Bert Zeppelin? I was talking to a family member and he said we did. I remember Gundy rumors but I couldn't find anything online that says we did. Thanks in advance.

Arkansas, Auburn and Tennessee all reached out to him and Briles and were all turned down by both.

Pretty sure he wanted to be near Seattle because one of his children has a syndrome that can only be treated there

Its probably the only reason someone was able to pry him out of Boise State, a place he evidently really loved coaching at. Petersen seems to be wired a bit different then most, but he is one very solid coach.

He's always coached on the west coast.
He turned down ucla, sc, and Oregon before he took the Washington job on the west coast.
It's interesting when you think about him choosing to follow Sark just as SC ultimately decided that sark was more of the reason for prior success than Kiffen. Now Saban has Sark to replace guess who...
Also the condition of his son isn't treated only in Seattle, it is treated there but also in Boise he closest place to Fayetteville would be Memphis. He likely never would have left Boise if their plans of joining the big east wasn't foiled by the basketball schools leaving allowing the football powers to be raided by the big 12, big 10, and acc causing the potential love to be moot as what was left of the conference lost its power status.

Was that was before or after Gruden accepted and bought a house in Fayetteville?

I wish we could just fire bert and hire chip kelly. (Not that I believe that this is possible.)
I wanted and heard we tried for Peterson but his Child's situation made it impossible.
