I read an article about that. Said he’s stepping away from football to focus on academics. Was he expected to be a contributor soon?

He will be transferring somewhere for sure. He isn’t going to quit football and focus on academics. He probably finishes the semester and enters the portal.

It’s really hard for me to support Yurachek after he refused to pull the plug on Pittman. Complete waste of a football season coming up.

Bobby could be HCIW. Sam steps aside after a bad season and Bobby takes over.

Would be the most Arkansas thing ever. Bobby wouldn't demand 7mil a year which would satisfy the cheap arse BOT.
It would energize the fan base immediately until they realize that we can't compete in the nil game.

Two stints at Louisville then fired. Two stints at Arkansas and fired here as well

Fans holding out hope Bobby P will save us as HC in waiting, live in fantasy land and probably vote Democrat.

Did people forget that Bobby Petrino and Chad Morris both went 2–10 and got fired the exact same year? Then he goes from P5, directly to FCS, and goes 5–5, 8–4, and 5–6 before becoming an offensive coordinator.

He's not our savior.

He’s coaching offense…not running a team. Two totally different things and I’m a Republican.

Not holding out hope as our next coach. I like him as a Play caller

Someone else said he could be the HCIW. Some people really think that's not only an option, but the best option.

And I'm also not the idiot who shoehorned irrelevant political potshots into a college football coaching discussion, so I don't care if you're a Republican or a Democrat. If you're sick of the kneeling at the national anthem, then you already know sports is one of the ways we escape the bullshite.

Mike norvell should’ve been our coach when we hired chad. This year would’ve been a decent year to be in the coaching market I would think, but who knows. It doesn’t matter what year it is, if the PTB don’t get with the times and understand to compete in college football today is to spend a bunch of money.

At some point things that happened 13 years ago aren’t relevant anymore though.

Yearning for a return to an idealized version of the past that is long gone seems more like a trait of the other side of the spectrum, BUT I completely agree with the sentiment. Even if Petrino did become head coach, he just wouldn't do well in today's environment. He seemed to dislike recruiting back in the day, so I can't even image how much he would struggle with it in today's NIL world where you have to pamper most players 365 days out of the year unless you want them to spontaneously up and leave. We saw how well Saban acclimated to being a head coach in today's world. You gotta be as much of a high-energy salesman as a great football coach.

If we're looking for a savior for the future, it ain't gonna be him.

This^
I've been saying it for years. I tried to get on board with Chad but wanted Norvell. We absolutely tanked that hire.

This year either exposes Yuracek for a weak AD or makes him look like a genius.

I'm hopeful Sam can turn it around but..... haven't really seen the evidence to make me believe it will happen.

What is it, if it’s a shite season and Sam steps away on his own? Is that a good thing?

What if Sam wins and goes on a run, says I knew I had it, then steps down?

Or what happens when he wins, and stays and next year was a repeat of last year and we’ve wasted 2 cycles.
