Yes, the apartments on Green Mountain used to be fine but have gone very much downhill the last few years, enough so that police cars try to keep a fairly visible presence there and tend to make regular passes. I agree that the areas further south on Shackleford, near Shackleford Crossings & west of I430 are fine.

I think we need to get hoginthesouthwest a compass.

Shuddit.
Not buying back home. Someone here asked me if I knew anything about the demographics around shackleford crossing and I figured a collective group of opinions would be helpful. And it was actually. You guys gave a good bit of helpful info.

Well I know I sometimes have to help my wife when it comes to things like directions. Just trying to make sure someone didn't end up in a place they'd regret.

Ha! Yes, Shackleford Crossing is fine. The spot about a mile north at Shackleford & Markham is somewhat sketchy.

Shackleford Crossing is not the same as Shackleford and Markham. SC used to be trailer park and junk yard territory, but I'm sure it's better with all the recent development. Not sure I'd wanna live there, though.
S&M is a busy melting pot, but I think it's fine. The apartments on Mara Lynn have always been a little sketchy. It's somewhere that I'd feel safe living, but suggest being aware of your surroundings, much like any place that has a lot of traffic.
It really depends on the specific location you're looking at buying and what you're looking to get out of it.

And enjoy all that time and money you're sure to spend travelling to work everyday. The only exception would be NLR, but I'm not clear why you distinguish as different from LR?

All I can tell you is there is more than the Arkansas River that separates NLR & LR. If you don't believe me just ask someone who lives in NLR.

Everytime ive been to North little rock it was extremely "hood". They wear their pants below their waist.

Ask any LR native why NLR is named dogtown and their answer probably won't be flattering (or accurate). When I was a kid many decades ago, I always thought of NLR as the bad side of the tracks. However, I love NLR today and prefer some things about it over LR.

The bad parts of NLR are really south of I40 and then mostly east of I30 at that. They've done some neat things with Argenta and it's nice. Once you get north of I40 really beginning at Park Hill and going all the way to Sherwood the neighborhoods are solid and it's really a great place to live.
