Spent some time looking around last night about a few teams and ours. Why do I feel like we are under the radar and there could be a few surprises this season. I think a lot of people are giving us the negative of it taking time for this new system. I get it will take time, but I feel we will be more athletic and agressive. I think there isnt much excitement because we don't have that stud player identified. If Bert can get the production he did, I feel pretty good about Morris. I also know this season could suck donkey balls.

I’m quietly optimistic, but prepared for a huge let down.

I'm actually quite happy our spring game was viewed as poop, but just imagine what those kids can do on a beautiful day. We have tools, there is honestly no reason we should decline on production from last year. We might have entirely new coaches, but they aren't complete fools. We have players who will breakout and see things we haven't.

I'm not talking about a big win season, but I do feel our team is undervalued.

In my opinion it’s going to come down to QB play. If one of the guys on campus can get the offense down and make the vertical throws needed to spread the defense then we might surprise some folks. I’m not confident we’ll have that this year which is why I’m still in the 4-6 wins bucket.

I think we have a more talented starting 22 than most people realize. Our depth is the main concern. QB is also a question mark but I'm optimistic that someone will emerge as a viable option.

Easy non conf schedule, and we play 3 conference teams with new head coaches. I don't see us missing out on a bowl game

There are three games I will be shocked and terribly disappointed if we lose any of: Eastern Illinois, North Texas, Tulsa.

Two games I will be disappointed, but less shocked than above: Colorado State, Vanderbilt.

Disappointed, but halfway expect: Ole Miss.

The rest, any wins would be gravy.

When does practice start? A quick search on my phone yielded info for some other year

FWIW, I think Kelly could turn out to be pretty good. Im sure some will laugh at that, but hes got the body, he will be used to run and he will get better with more time.

10 cent head. Not happening.

Noland will be starting by game 6 at worst.

Give me your thoughts on this. From what I have seen is that Cole is way ahead of the others. Not discredditing your post either, just curious and that is why I started this thread.

There are plenty of good QBs who aren’t the brightest. I mean Vince Young probably can’t even spell his name right.

Kelley definitely has the arm talent. There was a video from the manning passing academy where he threw a 70 yard post route like it was nothing. His pocket presence (too many fumbles) and accuracy are what worry me.

Yeah, to me it is his clumsiness and his attitude.

A dude like him could tear it up though.

Exactly where I am. I have zero faith in QB play coming into this season.

I think we're a better team than last year. we go bowling. anymore than that is up to the football gods and they're kinda assholes.

I’d read somewhere Fall camp opens August 2nd, because Dorian Gerald will not be here until that date

No offensive or defensive line play. No secondary speed. No receivers that can win one-on-one on a fade pattern (A staple of the spread offense). The spring game showed me what I needed to see about the QB situation - there ain't one. I am excited about Chase Hayden in the backfield and Devion Warren returning kicks. 6-6 (4 non-conference + Ole Miss and Vandy)

Whatever QB gets the snaps, will struggle with our WRs. These plus OL are the worst positions on offense.

I think we're going to have a long season. The OL situation is going to be tough. We haven't recruited well at OL the last several seasons and it's going to show. No depth and less talented OL, breaking in a new QB, lack of proven WRs, and learning a new system.

The RBs should be excited though. They will get a lot of carries this season and should be the safe receiver for the QB until the offense starts clicking.

Coaches may need to find a grad transfer or some juco OL in this class to help add depth next season.

I still think the defense will be bad to start the season, but I think they'll get better quick under the new staff.

No surprise, but the SDS panel unanimously picked us last in the west. It's the easy thing to do. Won't piss anybody important off.

Why would they pick us anywhere else but last? More questions than answers with this program and roster.
