a bit shocked that they came out this strong against him remaining. So, either they have the green light to go public from the Univsity/PTB/BOT or they are pushing the issue against HY.

I figure the first!

If you follow Arkansas sports/media and have a room temperature IQ or higher you can put this puzzle together. David Bazzel doesn’t jump in front of a camera to advocate for a coaching change unless he’s got a thumbs up.

The sports “media” that actually get tipped off are essentially on the payroll and don’t say shite (except for what they clearly say without saying it once they’re given the thumbs up or down). The rumor mongers that collect clout on Hogville by following around 17 year old recruits are clowns with no connections or insight. They throw shite at the wall for the amusement of the lowest common denominator faction of the fanbase.

My guess is Sam is going to “retire” with a nice big payday in +/- 10 days. He was probably made aware of that this week and HY is looking for a new coach right now.

There's just no way Pittman is coaching next season. I see no scenario that would allow it to happen.

I really hope we have a guy picked out and announced before the portal window opens. I think that’s sometime In early December.

Hunter has known he needed to fire Sam for over a month and half. If he doesn’t have someone to replace him by portal window and signing day, I will be on the HY is ineffectual train.

Irwin and Otis fricked up and spilled the beans before they were supposed to. The "misunderstanding" was Irwin thinking he had permission to break the news.

shite like what happened Sunday is exactly why local media doesn't know shite. They can't be trusted.

Sam is done.

Yeah I tend to believe this. I doubt all the rumors stemmed from one parent

So did the entire Ark media get the word to backtrack and shut up? Because the switch basically flipped after Sunday from basically everyone.

Only Baza and Bruce and of all 0pl, Rainwater, seem to still be pissed.

lots of wishful thinking, I think.

Doesn't sound like right now they have the 16MM to buy him out,

On Sunday it was offered up, but only to go after Gus (HY doesn't want and Gus doesn't want to be here).

Sam isn’t getting fired unless these last games are disastrous IMO. At most, he would retire at EOY if HY views the last games as not up to standard but go as expected. Otherwise, expect to see a revamped offensive staff and keeping Pittman.

TO the media this week, he has been humble, but resolute in that he has to right the ship... get it fixed, whatever.

It is a bit odd really, not alot of panic in his eyes or demeanor.

My issues is many fold... but in believing that he may stay is this. He hired Enos, and fired Enos to the tune of what exactly 2 mill? or more. TO fire and hire others.. what is that gonna cost? and yet here he still is?

Hard for me to fathom!

I like Sam and really wanted him to be the man. I thought everybody was jumping the gun early this season but clearly I was wrong. This feels like Bert's last year and Sam is looking defeated. Time to make a change

There is no reason. He was a career $200-$400k/year guy until Arkansas came along. The Hogs were his winning lottery ticket.

Why would he be sad to get a very large check to leave? He wants to retire here. He already has a house on Lake Hamilton. The man has nothing to panic about.

right there with ya man. But we have to do much better this time in our hiring or just give up completely. Between JLS taking over for BP, Bert, Chad, and Sam...

It has been... Well, what would you call it?

What happens when Drunk comes in hangs 60 on him?

Sam is much much worse at home than he is on the road. In the last 2 games, he has scored 17 pts... Total, and one TD was with a backup in nuclear garbage time.

Freeze also stated he basically could have named his score but didnt. Eliah won't pull his foot off the pedal one bit in 2 weeks like Hugh did...especially if 10-20K Mizzou fans show up and rival the Home crowd (yes, last part may not happen, but still).

The feeling among the fanbase will be at an all time low after that game.

That’s my point. How we win\lose will play a big part in my opinion.

You're actually being generous, it's only 13 total points

I think Sam really rubbed a LOT of people the wrong way in his Monday presser when he said he's not panicked and basically thinks everyone is being overdramatic, it's not as bad as they're making it out to be, etc.

It just had a tone to it that made it seem like he's not too concerned about taking the very hard steps towards fixing anything, and it's the fans and media being dramatic suggesting the team is broken.

I'm sure the full clip is out there, it's almost infuriating to listen to

Do you have any idea how much money the AD makes in the SEC's TV contracts alone?

They have $16 million. They have 10 times that amount available through various sources. Money is not the issue.

That's why this BS about some booster coming along willing to foot the bill only if we went for Gus was just that... bullshite
