DraftExpress has him going #17 overall right now and WalterFootball has him going #22 to the Mavs.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him come back for his junior season if he is projected outside the lottery. Big difference in rookie contract money and several of the guys drafted in the 20s range has found themselves bouncing back and forth from the Dleague.

He seems to have a "good head on his shoulders" and has a genuine pride in being a Razorback and helping return the program to prominence.

IF he stays where he is, sure.

I expect him to make a big leap from last season, and hit the road as a Top 13 or so pick.

I think we'll see him improve exponentially over what we saw last season.

You never know with the NBA, now days, he could improve a great deal and still have guys ahead of him on the draft boards based on their future potential, that is the wildcard in the draft, potential and how teams project and value the perceived potential.

I would be surprised to not see him improve a great deal, however, he is the hard worker, with legit NBA talent, we have had since 2000ish range.

That's why on the topic of his shooting form and mechanics, any other player on the team I would say leave it alone, its good enough. Mainly because there is not enough coaching interaction or time to use the facility to take on a task like this in the off season. Portis work hard enough on his own where he could change his mechanics to a prettier form, even if it didn't change his percentages a great deal people would think his shot is better because he looks better shooting the ball. Just not enough time/coaching interaction on the college level to take on this task, poor work ethic lead to a BJ Young situation of taking yourself out of the first round by your own decision to alter your mechanics. On the NBA level this can be handled during the off season, just more time for the staff and player to work on it.
