In that case the LR market would be good--a lot of it is about getting the word out.

I hate to say it because I love small places like this but I was very underwhelmed.

I like dumplings as may be obvious from my replies in this thread.

That is a big draw. I wouldn't want to eat anything from farms to the west or north of Tulsa. Too much O&G pollution in the soil.

Hence not much of a Farm to Table movement in Oklahom

I can work a "real list" of good restaurants and chefs, some of which buy some of my organic produce and proteins. Most of the ones that I have seen listed so far are convenience places that cook frozen Costco provided Tyson meats or worse.

My favorite is Aurthur's, and SO isn't too far behind with The Root Cafe being my go to.

I'll post restaurant lists later

I would definitely go to Arthur's more often if it weren't so far out. Last two times I have been at SO have been underwhelming, which is a disappointment. My wife and I usually do our anniversary dinner there.

I know you're from there, but I doubt the average Arkansan has spent much time in Springfield, MO.

NWAers used to spend a lot of time in Tulsa, but not as much anymore since there isn't a lot there that we don't have in NWA these days.

I have no opinions about any of the three, I just wanted to tell you some stuff.

This. I spend as little time in Missouri as possible and would never go there during my leisure time. Tulsa is pretty cool but I still don't find myself there often. Seems like I am in LR all the time for a million different reasons. Family, business, government, education and leisure have all brought me to LR

I'm not putting down the LR Coffee folks, but Onyx is winning all sorts of national awards and making a pretty big splash in the coffee scene.

That being said, I still prefer my coffeee at Baba Boudan's.

Onyx is legit.

I'm old school. Prefer making coffee & cappuccino at home for pennies on the dollar. The Coffee Shop vibe isn't attractive enough to me to spend $4 for what I can make for 38 cents.

Maybe If I were looking to meet a mom after she drops her munchkins off at school I'd be in Starbucks on the reg.

It's Starbucks for me virtually each day times two. At about five to six bucks a pop it does get expensive and the stores are only minutes from home making it convenient. Kind of addictive I suppose.

I can't replicate what they do or I'd make the brew at home.

I'm a big coffee drinker. Burr grinder, french press every with 200-205 degree water from a temp controlled kettle, etc...

Can you recommend any good roasts from Onyx? I'd consider making them my beans supplier.

Never got that one. I've ate there a half dozen times and still don't get what's so special about a fresh from frozen regional chain with garbage gumbo and crayfish that's only seasoned on the shell. I've had the catfish too, meh.

Wish I could give you more information on them. I'll stop in there tomorrow and set up something up w/ their owners for a write up.
