So he ain't going to the federal tank?

Good for him!

Seriously, hope it's a case of him getting in with the wrong crowd(Williams).

Called that 2 months ago.

It is what it is. He's lucky to not be going to Leavenworth.

No joke! People were talking about the number of felonies he'd be charged with.

So has he been cleared of charges or something? I thought they were going to "let the authorities do their jobs" before reinstating him, or something like that.

He got kicked to drug court and got a suspended sentence as long as he completes the 9-12 month program.

The name "Drug Court" is a misnomer for sure. It is for 1st time offenders to give a 2nd chance, and to keep the prison docket less loaded. So, he qualified...

As per a Judge.

Yep, Beard got off EXTREMELY lucky. To get light first time offense penalties that aren't even part of the sentencing guidelines for the original charges is some good ol' boy network doing it's thing.

I don't want to hear Mike or anyone using the excuse of running a clean program because they just pulled some rabbit out of the hat backroom dealing for him to get a suspended sentence.

frick anyone saying he deserves a second chance. They're just trading their ethics for a few more wins. Beard deserves justice and that is it. He's connected w/ Little Rock drug circuits and this won't be last time something pops up with him. It'll just be a matter of time. It might be 10 years from now, but it'll happen.

He qualified for the program, he accepted a bargained plea to enter the program.

That is the legal system in this country, not strings being pulled.

Every person living in certain areas of Little Rock is connected to the drug circuit. He isn't the first, nor will he be the last, Razorback to come from LR who has friends/family members who are big in the drug world in LR. His connections would be small potatoes compared to a Razorback Legend who has yet to see off the court legal troubles after his days here.

No. Just No. He's a first time non-violent offender. This is pretty standard. Mike kicked off Jacorey, and is in wait and see mode on Thomas.
