Was making more overseas than NBA minimum type deals IIRC and if the European teams paid him.

That is a thing many don't consider is sometimes they pay you but some teams/owners they won't over there or pay less than player thought they were getting when joining a team.

On a day when our nation spirals further into crisis with the Watergate style firing of FBI Director James Comey, in an obvious and desperate move by our Russian puppet president to avoid impeachment, at least until he can get huge tax breaks passed for his family and all the other rich and powerful of this nation while sticking it to the W-2 wage earning middle class that voted for him to make up some of the difference, while the rest blows up our deficit, leading to the eventual republican financial implosion just like we had in 2008, while at the same time getting rid of all those inconvenient banking regulations in order to grease the wheels on our financial freight train to hell.....

it's nice to see that we might have a decent basketball team next year.

Kind of balances things out.

lol you got to remember these kids are like 20 years old.

at least with kids that come from strong famliies there's what the kid thinks is going to happen / what he tells everyone is going to happe, then there's what is actualy going to happen lol. short of him being a first rounder he never was going anywhere regardless of what he told everyone. can't be so sure about barford

both should get drafted next year, i would go so far as to say barford is a lokc to be drafted next year he has nba game. and it's a weak AF draft

Malcom Brogdon really hit home what a senior can do in the nba

2 guards are a dime a dozen in the NBA. I don't think Barford gets drafted unless he improves his outside shooting SIGNIFICANTLY and/or he shows that he can be a defensive stopper. People don't get drafted just because they can score 20 points on any given night in college...which is pretty much all he's shown.

The NBA is about efficiency now.

Anytime I voice an opinion about basketball that tends to happen. Watched a minimum of 100 games of basketball (easily) every year since I was like 9 or 10. I'm 36 years old. I buy the NBA league pass every year. This year I watched the godawful Mavs play at least 70 games. But... Yeah, sure, NBA teams are LINING UP for guys like Barford. Keep telling yourselves that.

People tend to over analyze if someone is or not good enough to play in the nba. truth be told the real question you need to ask is, what role will each have. if they can clearly define a role they will make it. if they can't, they won't./

I think barfords game is absolutely perfect for the wizards. you can bring him in and let him be the back up pg, he plays plus defense as well , and at the end of the game you can go small ball with barford / beal / wall. washington has been looking for a backup pg he's it. let him get 20[ mins a game run the offense play defense they don't need him to score.

barford has something that even a the nba let\
vel you just cannot teach, size. he's t built like baron davis was he will always be able to put his head down and basically force himself in the lane and get the ball up when he has to you saw that against kentucky.

also, even if barford never shot over 30% from three again, he's the best defensive point guard i've seen at arkansas since corey beck. i mean, that boy plays defense. he's going to be a better defender the pbev. worst case, he will make a squad as a situational defensive player

macon i just have a hard time seeing what role he can play at the next level. he's not a point guyard. not a real one. mentality wise and handles wise his handles are still somewhat shaky. so; two. 6th - 7th man off the bench as a two guard. but who is he going to guard? he might very well , at least for the first 30 games of last year, be the worst defender on the team. maybe that 2was lack of effort but whatever it is, until the seton hall game i didn't see him play a lick of defense. you know you are bad when they are subbing in hannahs for you as a defensive replacement lol. i will say this towards the end of last year, i thought he was a better pure scorer than hannahs was. he can score, even at the nba level. i would like to see him get his FG% up and be more consistent

plus macon has that intangible "it" factor. he wants the ball at the end of the game and he has legit ice water in his veins.

if i were macon this year i would honestly ugo to coach and say coach put me on the bench let me come off the bench so i can audition for nba scouts in that role. ;l his big thing is his handles, and just being constant./ no 4 point games. i think barfords path is more defined b ut i think macon will eventually get there

I'll have to trust your analysis on Barford's defense. He never really stood out to me in that realm outside of the occasional good play, but I'll admit that I wasn't FOCUSED on him. If he's truly that good on defense, then yes - he could very well get drafted. I'm just glad i'll get a chance to look more closely with him returning. I'm CERTAINLY excited about he and Macon returning.

Now, as far as him playing PG? Not something I ever considered to be honest. He doesn't strike me as having the necessary speed/quickness to keep up with NBA PG's. SOOO many of today's PGs are lightning in a bottle/perpetual motion (Kyrie, Schroeder, Westbrook, Curry, John Wall, etc). I would think he'd have a better chance as a 3 & D specialist. Those are INCREDIBLY valuable roles and those guys are almost overpaid at this point. Earlier in the year, I compared Barford to Wesley Matthews. I think he'd carve out a decent future for himself as a role player if he tried to mimic that kind of play. Play great defense in a league with ridiculous guard play, hit a decent percentage of your 3's, don't turn the ball over. Dude could make millions. Even if he isn't drafted, he could still prove he belongs. I just don't think he's shown enough to get drafted...at least not in the 1st round.

Also, I don't know if I can give a good answer on "expectations" with there being so many question marks around the front court. If the freshmen come in and play on par with a down-year Kingsley, or Thompson elevates significantly, then I can see us getting to the Sweet 16. From there, who knows.
