Rumors were pretty widespread at church this morning and have been waiting to hear the full details but must have been pretty bad. I have heard some suggestion of a gang fight. It happened last night and there has been zero info released to the media.

quote:

BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. — Blytheville Police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and many people injured Saturday night.

Pafford Medical Services posted the following message on their Facebook:

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Blytheville, Arkansas, overnight more than a dozen victims were shot, resulting in at least 1 death.

“Please keep the Pafford EMS Medics, Blytheville Police and Emergency Services, and Great River Medical Center staff in your prayers this morning as they have worked together to save as many victims as possible.”

Stay tuned to WREG for the latest as we continue to follow this story.

Blytheville has become as bad if not worse than Memphis. I used to live in the memphis hood and I get more worried in blytheville than I ever was in Memphis.

Here's another article--it suggests it was domestic related and ended up being a shootout between two groups. One is reported dead.

I am betting its a gang fight. The area where it happened is comparable to driving through the worst cartel run neighborhood on the us/mexican border.

They won't say it was gang related for two reasons I suspect. First they don't want it to touch off a big gang war, second they are trying to protect what little image they have left as a city. Its hard to do that when somebody is being murdered every day and your population is going down faster than a car tire with a huge hole in it.

Think "Gang Banging in Little Rock" x 10.

Pic of the street...

Also they shut down GRMC last night due to the crowd that showed up. That place has bullet proof glass at the info desk if that tells you anything.

Also read some things that said it could have been a family reunion at a church

I took a little 'street view' cruise through there on Google Earth earlier. About what I expected. Short street, unless it picks up somewhere else in town.

Amen. We've taken great steps to make the state safe since then but this is something we need to come down on hard.

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -
A Blytheville shooting killed 1 woman and injured 11 others Saturday, according to the Blytheville Police Department.

Police said a domestic dispute at 833 Anderson St. around 11 p.m. resulted in the death of 19-year-old Adline King of Blytheville.

King was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police believe an ongoing feud between King and another individual led to the shooting.

EMS units transported 4 other victims with gunshot wounds to Regional One in Memphis, including 34-year-old Delushun Greene, 20-year-old Alicia Williams, 39-year-old Lloyd Williams and 31-year-old Darrin Woodard.

According to police, 6 other shooting victims with minor injuries went to Great River Medical Center by private transportation, including 31-year-old Christopher Gunn, 25-year-old Anisha Haley, 25-year-old Candace Jackson, 39-year-old Katresa Parker and two male juveniles.

According to a press release, a fight broke out and a 200-person crowd confronted officers at the hospital Saturday night. Officers described the scene as "chaotic and emotional."

Additional officers from the Blytheville Police Department, Mississippi County Sheriff's Department and Arkansas State Police were called in for backup.

Police said the final victim, 19-year-old Miracle King, was treated at St. Bernards and released.

All victims were from the city of Blytheville.

Police said the suspects are still at large.

Officers are investigating the incident as a homicide and ask anyone with information to come forward.

Pafford Medical Services, whose crews responded to the shooting, posted the following on its Facebook page: "Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Blytheville, Arkansas. Overnight more than a dozen victims were shot, resulting in at least 1 death. Please keep the Pafford EMS Medics, Blytheville Police and Emergency Services and Great River Medical Center staff in your prayers this morning as they have worked together to save as many victims as possible."

And here's a timely article about the most dangerous places to live in the Natural State. LINK

I was a little surprised to see SWLR where it was ranked. While not being the place it was when I was much younger I had read where it wasn't the war zone it once was. But admittedly I don't stop there very often nor do I stay there very long when I do.

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) -
A news conference was held Tuesday afternoon following a tactical operation in and around Blytheville Tuesday morning to crack down on drugs and guns.

During the news conference in Blytheville U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas Chris Thyer announced details on "Operation Blynd Justus."

Since the operation started in 2013 the goal of the operation was to remove "the worst of the worst from Blytheville," Thyer said. More specifically to target the steadily increasing drug and gun crime in Mississippi County, according to a news release.

Seventy individuals involved in the investigation have been federally indicted and an additional three are indicted by the state

The list of those indicted included

LaShawn "Psycho" Harris
Terry "T Murder" Coleman
Martines "Danger" Times
Oscar "Young Matador" Jaramillo
Michael "Dirty Mike" Jones

If you're talking about Fair Park, that's not east little rock. And although I know nothing about Blytheville, there are many places far worse then Fair Park, today, and then.

Although I've never lived in SWLR, I've known a lot of good people from that part of town and I spent a lot of time over there in the eighties and nineties. All I know about it today, though, is what I read and hear, which isn't good at all. I'm sure much is exaggerated, but it seems shocking how much SWLR has gone downhill.

south west really never was THAT bad. Best place in little rock to get your drugs, it's not overly violent but rampet drugs everywhere. everyone in SW is holding lol

The only "bad part" of south west by my defininion is off baseline behind the family dollar, pine street, et and that's not really all that bad

Grantie Mountain (where i was raised) / Collage Station /Deep in East end..frick that lol. you didn't have to tell me to be home at night lol
