Move if wrong board, Wife(no pics) and I have anniversary the weekend of October 4th and I want to take her to a place in Arkansas to spend the weekend. I live in Central Arkansas, does anyone have any recommendations for a place to stay that is affordable and near some attractions( I was thinking Eureka Springs or Beaver lake possibly) Thanks in advance!

We are having a baby in two months, thus the affordable part

Shopping for the wife and scenery mainly. I like hiking but it doesn't work well since she is way pregnant. Thanks!

There are tons of hotels in Eureka that you should be able to find a good deal on. As far as ideas, walk around down town with all the shops, restaurants and what not. Also do the tour at the Crescent.

Bentonville. Shop and eat downtown. Go to Crystal Bridges.

Then go to the Amazeum, watch all the parents chasing their kids around, and contemplate what lies ahead for you two.

In all seriousness, Eureka Springs is great. I'd look into some of the cottages and B&Bs. Texaco Bungalow is nice. Rock Cottages are good.

For a quick weekend, Holiday Island or get a room on the riverwalk place in Branson.

Holiday Island is just 10 miles out of Eureka. You can get condos reasonable($100-$150) nightly. Eureka is an interesting spot. They also have a big cat rescue place, if you like lions and tigers. Also have a drive through safari type thing outside of town.

My go to spot has always been Branson. I'm a golfer though. They have some good courses and we usually stay at Cedar Lodge outside of all the old folk traffic cluster. They have a nice outdoor outlet mall with a bunch of named brand stores. Nike, Polo, Coach, etc. must have breakfast at Billy Gailes. Best ever. Bass Pro and more shops down on their River Walk thing. Cool little water and fire show.

Also, if you just want to relax and have good scenery, check out Mt. Magazine Lodge. It's a super nice place but it's pretty remote.

There are the Eureka Springs Hobbit Caves, Treehouses, and Castles that are pretty neat:

That gives easy access to Eureka Springs and all the other fun things in Fayetteville, Bentonville, Rogers area.

Great suggestions guys! I am kicking myself for not reserving sooner. The majority of cabins and rentals are booked. Thanks again!
