I was pumping some gas this morning and the little 5News dude on the gas pump TV referred to Qualls as signing "with the hometown team".

Of course people in Fort Smith probably consider OKC to be their NBA team of choice. I couldn't give a frick either way about NBA teams or the NBA in general. The statement struck me as strange.

So, Arkansans....where do you live, and if you give a frick about NBA, what team to you follow and consider your team?

Me, Fayetteville, zero fricks given.

I tend to follow players rather than teams.. although now that I'm living in Florida I suppose I should probably follow the Heat or the Magic.

I was a big fan of the Chicago Bulls during their heyday because of Scottie Pippen.

This is pretty much me in every pro sport.

I'll definitely be paying more attention to the Bulls and Thunder now though

SW AR

Mavs; I've followed them since the late 90s, early 00s.

I guess many bandwagon fans have jumped on OKC since they have been good after moving from Seattle.

I would guess good number of Grizzlies fans in the state especially east.

I really don't feel any affiliations to any pro teams.

Maybe the A's since my first sports team I was on were the A's. So I kinda gravitated towards Oakland and Rickey Henderson.

When I lived by Santa Cruz I followed the Giants and went to a few games in SF. Only went to one in Oakland.

I've never gone to a game in KC even though I started lik g the Royals when Tony Pena was the mgr. they we awful and his post game pressers were great.

I don't think I own any pro sports gear. I was def. a Cardinals can as a kid, but never went to a game in StL so it didn't cement in my fandom. Been to games in Atl. Though.

I found myself feeling dirty when I started getting invested in the SF Giants It just felt wrong to root for them.

NBA I couldn't give 2 shits about any team. Even OKC. Never went to a game when I lived in OKC.

Pro Sports lack appeal do to the monkey see monkey do mentality, or the lack of diversity if you will.

NFL is going this way, or really has been this way, every offense is a variation of the same, no originality, no innovation.

The NBA is the worst offender of this, every team runs a butchered version of the Princeton offense. The league focused their marketing towards individuals over the team, because it was the Individuals who entered the league(s) in the 70s-80s that made pro basketball popular.

Pro baseball's season is way to damn long to put any real energy into focusing or following with close detail, they do have the best merchandise because they have the best logos in sports.

Part of the appeal to college sports for me is the diversity, you can see football teams running option ground based offenses to air raid offenses, standard 4-3/3-4 defenses to non traditional 4-2/3-3 base defenses.

Basketball is going to be forced to implement many similar rules as the NBA to force the pace to be at a more fluid level since the stall ball strategy of Smith/Sutton disciples has strangled the enjoyment from the game and slowed it to a pace of play slower than the pre-shot clock era. Basketball has meant to be a fluid paced game since they cut the bottom out of the peach baskets...

Became a pretty big Grizzlies fan during my years in Memphis. Mainly because I had a team right there to pull for and once they started winning it just built from there.

Prior to that I didn't watch much NBA after Jordan retired.

You mean teams run multiple variations of the motion offense, with the world's best players? Lots of isolation and pick and roll/pop? Stretch 4's, teams shooting ridiculous numbers of 3's, point forwards? Totally like college.

It is a bad product, no matter your confusion about what you are actually watching.

The only defined position in the Princeton offense is the Center, hence the rise of the "point forward" under Jackson's triangle offense that is a variation of the Princeton offense. Every position other than the center has to be able to hit long jumpers, in the Princeton offense, hence the new "stretch 4" label.

The only college team that run this offense is Rutgers.

A team who runs a variation of this offense is Georgetown.

The motion offense is not the Princeton offense.

I'm not I guess. I enjoy watching the NBA, but I don't have a love for any team. I GUESS I could be an occasional sidewalk Mavs fan since my husband is a rabid Mavs fan or the Spurs just b/c Mavs fans hate them so much
