Voted to allow O&G companies to continue to take private land via eminent domain and a bill just came out of committee that would tax the miles you drive if its excessive to add money to the highway fund.
1.5 cents per mile tax for those interested
Repubs disguised as commies. Throw them all out.

Vote 3rd party at every opportunity, even if you hate them. Only way to change a corrupt system.

All of those assholes are probably getting kickbacks.
frick them all. This has been the most embarrassing legislature in history, and that's saying something.

Lets be honest here... we are a one party state. We were a one party Democrat state for every and a year, then the winds changed and, other then a few folks getting elected because of their family names, we are now a one party Republican state.
Its still the same philosophy governing the state. Just now the politicians wear little flag pins in their lapels instead of grudgingly mentioning that maybe poor people shouldn't be ground up and used as fertilizer.
You still get a handful of Marxists elected in super liberal strongholds. You still get a handful of crazed kooks decrying that the world will end if two gay men are allowed to live together. We will always have a few of those running around.
Its a good ole boy network. Only now they call themselves Republicans instead of Democrats.

No doubt they are getting kickbacks.
They simply don't know how to act. It also seems that a person has to be a greedy, self-absorbed narcissist to go into politics. I don't know what the. Solution is other than a 3rd party.

There was a guy by the same name from Fort Smith, a trained engineer, who ran two successful companies in Ft. Smith into the ground and bankruptcy before leaving to teach at UAFS.
Surely this isn't the same guy.

The whole state legislation, both dems and Republicans, are trying their hardest to frick over teachers too. There is a bill being voted on that would potentially cut the top end salary of teachers in Northwest Arkansas by over 20k.
They have done absolutely nothing to help any population of people in this state.

Not true. They have buddies and donors that are quite happy.

Sounds like he meets the usual qualifications.

Cutting top end teacher salaries in NWA would be a disaster. At the moment NWA and Little Rock are the two economic engines that power the state and the Northwest is still growing in terms of population.
The state needs to attract the best and brightest teachers out there or we will just lose them to our neighboring states.

That teacher salary bill isn't going to make it out of committee. The guy has already said he's withdrawing it.

Thank God for a rare display of sanity.

Now those frickers are trying to mess with my wine!
Bill advanced to ban imports of CA wine
Sounds like it won't pass, so it's really just a gigantic waste of time.

This Legislature has gone completely batshit crazy.

Interesting sidenote on the wine bill:
I know Greg Leding, and he was catching a lot of grief for voting for it. He came out on Facebook and explained that it's common practice for neighbors on the floor to vote for each other if the person is out in a meeting or taking care of some other business. The thing is, though, that there's an unspoken code that neighbors only vote the way they know the absent legislator would vote. Except... in this case, Leding's neighbor voted a way "she" (he didn't reveal identity but did reveal gender) knew that he wouldn't vote (in support of this ban).
Anyway, I understand the necessity of the practice of having others vote, but I think I'd find a better system that didn't depend on the honesty of lawmakers to work effectively (like having designated proxies or something).
