So there’s smoke on twitters and someone saying on discord (someone link me that please) that Uncle Jerry is splashing some big NIL money now. Is it actually fun to be a hog fan again?

Really hope that is true but can't see that from Jerry. There's zero return for him.

Former Florida State running back Rodney Hill has committed to transfer to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Hill, 5-10, 190, will be a redshirt-sophomore in 2024 with three years of eligibility remaining.

The Statesboro (Ga.) native fills an important need for the Razorbacks, who were down to four scholarship running backs following Isaiah Augustave's departure earlier this week. Hill was close to calling the Hogs in January, but his scheduled official visit in Fayetteville was canceled after Arkansas landed a commitment from four-star transfer Ja'Quinden Jackson.

Hill, a heavily-offered three-star prospect as a high school recruit, committed to Florida A&M and then Miami after announcing his transfer decision in December.

As a true freshman, Hill played in four games but maintained his redshirt status while rushing 27 times for 144 yards and a touchdown. In 2023, Hill played in 12 games and produced 190 yards and a touchdown on 50 carries while also adding five receptions for 83 yards, and a pair of kickoff returns for 44 yards.

The 2022 graduate of Bulloch Academy joins a running back room that includes two redshirt-seniors in Jackson and Dominique Johnson, a junior in Rashod Dubinion, and a true freshman in Braylen Russell.

Arkansas is also hosting a transfer linebacker in Larry Worth of Jacksonville State. The Razorbacks hosted Charlotte transfer linebacker Nikhai Hill-Green earlier in the week and currently leads for his signature.

Here's more on Hill from the official Florida State website:

2023:

The Arkansas football team has received its first transfer commitment from the spring transfer portal, as former Florida State running back Rodney Hill announced his pledge to the Razorbacks according to a report by Pete Thamel on Friday.

A 5-foot-10, 190-pound Georgia native, Hill was offered by Arkansas when he entered the transfer portal following the conclusion of the 2023-24 season, but he ultimately committed to Florida A&M.

During his two seasons with the Seminoles, Hill combined to rush for 334 yards and two touchdowns on 77 carries (4.34 yards per carry). His career-high came during his freshman campaign, when he carried the ball nine times for 55 yards and a touchdown against Duquesne.

Hill was a three-star prospect out of Bulloch Academy and chose Florida State over offers from programs like Colorado, Kentucky, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M and others.

Following Hill's commitment, Arkansas has 78 scholarship players on its roster and seven remaining spots to use on transfers. Be sure to follow along at The Trough premium message board for updates on the Razorbacks' roster fluctuations this offseason.

Former Florida State running back Rodney Hill has committed to Arkansas, per On3’s Pete Nakos. He spent the past two seasons with the Seminoles.

Hill has had a tumultuous offseason. He initially entered the transfer portal on Dec. 13. He committed to Florida A&M, decommitted from the Rattlers, committed to Miami, rejoined Florida A&M and then opted to re-enter the portal.

Now, he’s seemingly finally found a home in Fayetteville. Hill appeared in 16 games with FSU the last two seasons, including a dozen last fall as a redshirt freshman. In total, he has rushed for 334 yards and a pair of scores on 77 career carries.

In 2023, Hill rushed 50 times for 190 yards and a score. That was the fourth-most carries for the Seminoles for the third-most rushing yards. He also caught five passes for 83 yards, which averaged out to one of the best numbers on the team at 16.6 yards per reception.

Hill, a native of Statesboro, Georgia, played high school football at Bulloch Academy. He was a three-star prospect and the No. 506 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also rated as the No. 38 RB in the class and the No. 50 player out of his state.

Arkansas hosted two transfer linebackers in the first four days of the 15-day transfer window, including Jacksonville State transfer Larry Worth, who commmitted to the Razorbacks at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Worth said the Hogs' opportunity for early playing time led him to choose Sam Pittman's program.

"Just fits me schematically," he said. "I can make a lot of plays. I can make an immediate impact."

Worth, a 2022 graduate of Jacksonville (Fla.) Baldwin, has two years of eligibility remaining and wanted a closer look at the Hogs' need for more experience and depth at defensive coordinator Travis Williams' linebacker position.

"Just to see where I fit in the scheme," Worth said. "Just see where I can have a big role and make an impact. Coach T-Will just felt like family. It seemed like a great opportunity."

This past season, the 6-4, 220-pound junior finished with 63 tackles, 6 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 3 quarterback hurries, 2 pass break-ups, an interception, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery over the span of 13 games.

"I bring a lot of versatility," he said. "You can throw me in where ever you need a play made on defense. I promise you are going to have a play made.

"Yes that is what I would bring to the table -- a lot of experience and help the young guys out. They need some experience."

Who you look at in addition to Arkansas and is this your first visit?

Fayetteville was the first stop for Worth, who said Minnesota is also "on me pretty hard right now." Playing in the nation's top conference is appealing to the Florida native, however.

"The scouts can see I'm playing against the best talent," Worth said. "The best conference in college football and it translates to the league."

In addition to the Hogs and Gophers, Worth is also receiving interest from USC, California, Toledo and several others.

Arkansas landed its second transfer commitment in as many days as Jacksonville State linebacker Larry Worth chose the Hogs on Saturday.

Worth took an official visit to Fayetteville over the weekend and went public with his decision on Instagram.

A 6-foot-4, 220-pound Florida native, Worth racked up 63 total tackles, six tackles for loss, three sacks and one interception for the Gamecocks last season.

According to Pro Football Focus, Worth finished the 2023-24 season with a defensive grade of 69.2, a run defense grade of 64.5, a tackling grade of 61.8, a pass-rush grade of 90.1 and a coverage grade of 65.5 in 470 snaps.

Worth has two years of eligibility remaining at Arkansas, and bolsters a linebacker room that is in need of depth heading into the 2024 season.

The Razorbacks still have seven scholarships available and will continue to work the transfer portal ahead of the 2024 season.

Slaughter beat him out.... He was with the 2nd team most of the spring.

Ya'll remember his saying, "Transferring isn't an option"... Well, I guess.. until your no longer a starter!

Dude wanted paid for being a back up.

Unless you have the money for a two deep team, might as well join the Sunbelt.

Head coach Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks have earned another commitment from the transfer portal, as Utah State linebacker-safety hybrid Anthony Switzer made his pledge to the Hogs on Friday.

A 6-foot, 210-pound Augusta, Arkansas, native, Switzer played three seasons at Arkansas State before transferring to Utah State for the 2023-24 season. In 12 games with the Aggies, Switzer totaled 84 tackles, eight tackles for loss, three sacks and an interception.

Switzer made his commitment announcement on X (formerly Twitter) following a visit to Fayetteville earlier this week.

According to Pro Football Focus, Switzer played a total of 770 snaps for Utah State last season. He finished his campaign with a defensive grade of 66.5, a run defense grade of 56.3, a tackling grade of 59.5, a pass-rush grade of 70.7 and a coverage grade of 79.2.

During his three years in Jonesboro, Switzer racked up 91 total tackles, four tackles for loss and an interception.

Following Switzer's commitment, Arkansas now sits with 78 projected scholarship players on its roster.

Arkansas gained its third transfer commitment of the spring on Friday when Utah State nickel/safety Anthony Switzer announced his plans to join the Razorbacks for his fifth and final season in 2024.

Switzer, 6-0, 215, went public with his decision during an official visit in Fayetteville that began Wednesday. The Augusta (Ark.) native who played at Arkansas State prior to Utah State has also canceled his plans to check out the Pittsburgh Panthers on Friday. Switzer has now officially signed with the Razorbacks.

"It's the best fit for me and I'm the best fit for them," Switzer said. "At the end of the day, we mesh well together. I only have seven months left in my college football career. So that's the biggest thing, I can come in and be a good fit for the university and teammates. It's really just about my family."

Switzer, who posted 84 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and 3 sacks a year ago, brings more experience to Arkansas' defense after having played in 38 career games. Defensive coordinator Travis Williams and the Razorbacks plan to use Switzer in the 'Hog' (nickel) role that Lorando Johnson filled before entering the transfer portal earlier in the week.

"Yes sir, they are recruiting me to play the Hog," Switzer said. "A little bit of overhang to the boundary too, it just depends on personnel. I feel like T-Will is going to give me a chance to maximize my versatility."

Coming back to the Natural State to finish off a lengthy college career is a dream come true to Switzer.

"Man the visit has been amazing," he said. "It was everything I dreamed about as a kid. I grew up in Augusta, Arkansas, so I've been a Hog fan all my life. This is a dream come true. Get to see the facility, see Coach Pitt, and spend time with Coach T-Will and Coach (Deron) Wilson. I finally got to meet Bobby Petrino. It's been everything plus some."

Switzer said the home feeling he got in Fayetteville was enough for him to stay an extra day on The Hill.

"I was considering Pitt, I was supposed to go on a visit today, but this has me feeling so much like home that I canceled that visit," Switzer said. "So I am staying here extra today."

The veteran added that Memphis, Colorado and Duke were also in contact prior to reaching his decision, but that he was set on "somewhere close to home."

With his pledge, Switzer joins former Florida State running back Rodney Hill and former Jacksonville State linebacker Larry Worth on Arkansas' incoming transfer list. He is expected to compete for the starting spot at Arkansas' HOG (nickel) position.

Former Syracuse offensive lineman Joe More has signed with the Arkansas Razorbacks. The 6-5, 306-pound Franklin (Tenn.) native has one year of eligibility remaining after playing in just three games as a graduate transfer from Richmond in 2023.

More, who is considered a 'swing' guard/tackle, was recruited to Fayetteville by first-year offensive line coach Eric Mateos. The senior lineman committed to Arkansas during an official visit that began Sunday evening.

Arkansas welcomed two more potential transfer targets to town on Monday when Coastal Carolina's Blake Boda and Marshall linebacker Stephen Dix Jr. made their way to Northwest Arkansas for official visits.

The Razorbacks have landed three other spring transfer additions in former Florida State running back Rodney Hill, former Utah State nickel Anthony Switzer, and former Jacksonville State linebacker Larry Worth

A 6-foot-5, 306-pound redshirt senior from Tennessee, More transferred to Syracuse from Richmond University. The right tackle only appeared in three games with the Orange due to injury and played just 29 snaps during the 2023-24 season.

More spent five years at Richmond and started 23 games across his final two seasons with the Spiders. According to Pro Football Focus, More played 903 snaps during the 2022-23 campaign and finished with an offensive grade of 61.3, a pass block grade of 59.2 and a run block grade of 62.1.

Following More's addition, Arkansas sits with 78 scholarship players on its roster.

Arkansas has landed its second linebacker addition of the spring via the transfer portal. Former Marshall linebacker Stephen Dix Jr. committed to the Razorbacks on Tuesday following an official visit in Fayetteville, becoming the Hogs' fifth incoming transfer in the last 11 days.

Dix Jr., 6-1, 237, was a Composite four-star recruit when he signed with Florida State out of Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips in the Class of 2020. He appeared in 21 career games for the Noles in 2020-21 before making the move to Marshall, where he missed the 2022 season due to injury but came back strong in 2023 with 67 tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, 4 quarterback hurries, a pass breakup and a recovered fumble.

Dix Jr. was recruited to Arkansas by second-year defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Travis Williams and will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Razorbacks.

"Definitely because of Coach T-Will," Dix Jr. said of his decision. "I think he is an awesome coach. Seeing how he is, I think he would help me grow not only as a player, but as a man. He loves ball just like I love ball. Help me get to where I want to go. Anything I need help with, he said he will do anything to help me out that I need."

He joins a linebacker group that saw four players depart following the 2023 season, but two others have been added via the portal in Xavien Sorey of Georgia and Larry Worth of Jacksonville State. Arkansas also signed three from the high school ranks in the 2024 class in Bradley Shaw, Wyatt Simmons, and Justin Logan, but the room's overall experience level was lacking prior to the recent additions of Worth and Dix Jr.

"Absolutely, coming in, I think I would have the opportunity to impact especially with this group," Dix Jr. said. "Definitely been looking at them over the course of being here. A talented group without a doubt, I would just add a little more experience. I think what they have is awesome. I would just add a little to it overall."

Dix Jr., who squats 650 and benches 365, said it didn't take long to realize where he wanted to be after checking out Northwest Arkansas.

"This is probably one of the best visits I've been on in all of the recruiting I've ever had," he said. "Really love the family here. Love the energy I get from the coaches. Just had an awesome time. I'm very excited about here."

In addition to Dix Jr., the Razorbacks' official visit so far this week has included former Syracuse offensive lineman Joe More, who committed and signed Monday, Coastal Carolina quarterback Blake Boda, and a fourth official visitor who has yet to go public.

Arkansas' five spring transfer commitments include Dix Jr., More, Worth, plus former Florida State running back Rodney Hill and former Utah State nickel Anthony Switzer. The Razorbacks entered the day with seven scholarship spots remaining following the departure of running back Dominique Johnson on Monday.

The Arkansas Razorbacks continue to make transfer portal additions to their roster, as Marshall linebacker Stephen Dix Jr. announced his commitment to head coach Sam Pittman and the Hogs on Tuesday.

A 6-foot-1, 237-pound soon-to-be redshirt junior from Orlando, Florida, Dix originally signed with Florida State out of high school before making his way to the Thundering Herd for the 2023-24 season.

Across 13 games at Marshall, Dix racked up 67 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks and a defended pass.

Formerly a four-star prospect in the class of 2020 according to Rivals, Dix chose the Seminoles over teams like Clemson, Florida, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee and others.

Dix totaled 58 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss during his first two seasons in Tallahassee before suffering an undisclosed season-ending injury prior to his 2022-23 campaign.

Following Dix’s addition, Arkansas now sits with 78 scholarship players on its roster.

Arkansas offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino added a new quarterback to the Razorbacks' 2024 roster on Tuesday with the addition of Coastal Carolina transfer Blake Boda, who went public with his decision following a two-day official visit in Fayetteville (Ark.).

Boda, 6-4, 200, was a 2023 graduate of Cocoa (Fla.) who appeared in one game as a freshman last fall, completing his only pass attempt of the season for 14 yards in a 31-23 win over Texas State. Boda is listed as a redshirt-freshman who will have four years of playing eligibility remaining with the Hogs.

"The staff they have with Coach Pittman and Coach Petrino is special," Boda said of his decision. "Coach Petrino, for what he's done in the past, is just elite, top-level and he's one of the top coaches in the country. Just to play under him is just something special. Arkansas is SEC football so it's big-time, and just the guys I met have been great."

Petrino and the Razorbacks were in need of a fourth scholarship quarterback after Jacolby Criswell entered the portal and ultimately landed back at his original school, North Carolina. Arkansas brought in Boda for a Monday-Tuesday official visit and quickly sealed the deal.

"I loved every moment of it," Boda said. "Best visit I've been on, for sure. Loved the whole coaching staff. My time here has just been amazing."

When Boda returns to The Hill next month, he'll join a group that features penciled-in starter Taylen Green, who transferred in from Boise State this past winter, as well as redshirt-freshman Malachi Singleton and true freshman KJ Jackson.

"I believe I'm very accurate with the football," Boda said. "I believe that when I go out there, I play and make the game slow. I understand the game very well. I'm not the fastest guy or have the strongest arm, but I feel like I play very smart to my game."

As a prospect, the Florida native was a three-star according to 247Sports, which also tabbed him as the 125th quarterback in the land and the 298th overall recruit in the state of Florida. Boda signed with Coastal Carolina after taking other official visits at UNLV and USF, and turned down other scholarship offers from Missouri State and Bethune-Cookman.

Arkansas' five spring transfer commitments include Boda, plus former Florida State running back Rodney Hill, former Syracuse offensive lineman Joe More, former Jacksonville State linebacker Larry Worth, and former Utah State nickel Anthony Switzer. The Razorbacks entered the day with seven scholarship spots remaining following the departure of running back Dominique Johnson on Monday, but one was taken earlier in the day by Marshall transfer linebacker Stephen Dix Jr.

In addition to Boda, Arkansas' visit list so far this week has also included More, Dix Jr., and a yet-to-be-made-public visitor.

The Arkansas football team has added another piece to its quarterback room, as Coastal Carolina transfer quarterback Blake Boda committed to the Hogs on Tuesday evening.

A 6-foot-4, 200-pound redshirt freshman from Daytona Beach, Florida, Boda was recruited by Arkansas offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino out of Cocoa High School and was even once committed to the Razorbacks' playcaller when he was at UNLV.

Boda saw action in three games last season and completed his only pass of the year for 14 yards against Texas State on Nov. 11.

Rated as a two-star prospect by Rivals in the class of 2023, Boda chose the Chanticleers over offers from programs like Bethune-Cookman, Missouri State, UNLV and South Florida.

As things currently stand, the Razorbacks have six scholarship spots open for possible additions.
