Hunter said he was making top 12-15 money with a contract he signed after back to back Elite 8’s. Maybe he should have been making top 8 money?

An argument can be made muss wasn’t even earning his paycheck the last two years. But some want to give him a raise haha.

Personally I don't see it as horrible if he moves on...as long as we hire Beard, Moser or the equivalent.

Other than the fabulous runs at Elite 8 (and we weren't going any farther than that) his record is less than stellar. I'd be fine with him coming back but would view the seat as pretty warm if they repeated last year's debacle.

I won't miss all the hysterics with the shirt off and stuff either to be honest. Act like you expected to win sometime maybe?

I’m pretty sure at the time of the signing, he was damn close to top 8.

Muss quit recruiting 6 months ago. He quit coaching 3 months ago.

Muss deserves the crap being flung at him.

He should be fired tbh for losing control of his team. This season was an embarrassment zero reason to miss the tournament and that needs to be a standard. If not continue to whine

If you have followed closely, he quit doing promos for the program this year, he wasn't nearly as involved on social media and definitely didn't build the hog brand, but his own.

He has been distant, and as Beebe said above, quit coaching overall, gave up in some ways. He has been leaving since mid season. Muss strikes me as a brilliant savant who is a absolute control freak. That is awesome until you hit some wall and then he goes off the ledge. Rumors are that Devo was getting into it with Muss earlier in the season for not giving a rip any longer.

I am beginning to believe it was true, look at how the team played, reacted, and their lack of development. I loved muss, but am ready for a change at the present

This makes sense. You’re probably right but he strikes me as 2010 Petrino but friendlier. Basketball and winning came across as the most important thing in his life. I misread him or something changed.

I was listening to a podcast earlier with Jeff Goodman and I fully believe Muss will be the next coach at USC.

The AD hired her agent to go find a new coach. Guess which coach is in need of a new agent?

Moser is solid, Beard is as close to a home run as you could ever hope to hire.

Pretty sure he was exactly the 8th highest paid coach in the country actually.

Why do I keep seeing Moser's name? And to say "or the equivalent" when it's him and Beard? One of those isn't like the other.

I'm also not sure why everyone is all about Jerome Tang. He's got two years of HC experience, one being Elite Eight, and then not even making the tournament. I get that it's Kansas State, but damn, that's so volatile. Muss at least had HC experience in the NBA, and took Nevada to the Sweet 16 and then two more tourney appearances in four years. There was consistency. I was honest-to-God excited for Musselman when the hire was announced, and he lived up to every bit of my expectations. Hiring Porter Moser is a failed coaching search and I refuse to spin it any other way. The idea that we could stoop that low with our great recent success means just pull the fricking plug on it and get Mike Anderson back. He's been at Oklahoma three years, made the NIT once, and then failed to make even the NIT the other two years.

I'm not on the hype train. I just think he's our floor and a lot better than Bryce Drew/Stackhouse type options.

Oklahoma has been a slow build, but that's a very tough basketball league. Still trending upward there, they were ranked for most of the season, as high as #7 at one point, and they were top 15 for a month and a half.

Knows how to win in a tournament format. Sweet 16 and Final 4 at Loyola. CBI championship as well.

To be clear, I would be disappointed if we hired him. When I say solid, I mean the program wouldn't fall into the abyss.

He took over a respectable program under Kruger and took them to the NIT one time.
