He appears to be a guy who can attract coaches who want to advance their careers into HC gigs, which is a good thing.

This guy is already starting his coaching tree and he's at an age when coaches are getting their first HC jobs.

Pretty appropriate the Broyles award was announced today. That guy knew a thing or two about having assistants go on to bigger things.

Yeah, people were making a big deal about McGee getting the UAB job last year then, you know, one day, years away, coming back and replacing him.

Bielema had his second protege land a BCS job after he led a MAC school to the Orange Bowl.

*fingers crossed* Long announces retarded budget figures for the assistant staff and not just we can, we have names to match the salary figures. I would rather have an "all-star" staff than an "all-star" coach that wins the press conference and then we have no money left for a decent staff...

If they're any good, that's not too much of a bad thing. At least there's consistency. But I like the setup of this hire. We just have to hire the right offensive guy.

Negative young padawan. JFB was the greatest at grooming coaches to be HC's and lead their own programs.

If a guy is good, he'll want his own program, and other schools will come gunning for him. We saw what happened with Keith Burns and Fitz Hill off Nutt's staffs.
