I swear the sec office gives us the short straw on scheduling. only team to play back to back road games and we do it twice this year. somehow skip the weaklings of the East only to play a Florida team that is loaded and got a real coach. Bama actually has been lucky playing tenn every year because they have sucked for like 10 years.

also sadly as it hurts to say this, over the last few years we have lowered others SOS because we sucked and they were good.

This. Always seems we play the most top 25 teams in the country.

If you remove our games from everyone's schedule, it doesn't actually change their SOS much. Not to say there's no truth in that, but just that it's overstated.

I really do believe that we've had some nasty luck catching SEC-E teams at their best, though. Similarly, it seems like Alabama catches them at their worst. It's almost like it's all planned that way in Birmingham, although that's hard to fathom.

I just quickly figured out where our opponents finished in the SEC-E race from 1992-2014. Sports-reference.com was my reference and I used the same positioning they used. I only counted regular season games, so SECCG match-ups aren't included.

1st place team - 10
2nd - 14
3rd - 12
4th - 13
5th - 9
6th - 7
7th - 1 (Only possible since 2012)

So we've played the top 3 SEC-E teams 39 times, compared to 30 times for the bottom 4.
