Still have my questions at linebacker though. For all the kool aid drinking and sunshine pumping that happens during spring practice I'm still pretty worried about this.
Not worried about Ellis and I was very impressed with Ramsey and Eugene. Hackett and more importantly, Josh Williams are my question marks. Apparently a lot of Martrell Spaight rubbed off on Hackett though and he's been living in the weight room and film room.

3/19 practice report
quote:
Venue: Outdoor practice fields
Format: Full pads
Highlights:
The cornerbacks position group had an outstanding practice, showcasing their aggressiveness. D.J. Dean intercepted a deep pass along the sideline during team drills.
WR Damon Mitchell continues to impress the coaches with his athleticism and toughness and made several plays in 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 periods.
The re-shuffled offensive line continues to gel and it showed in the first padded practice of the spring. The group has tried to get more athletic during winter workouts and ran several successful screen plays today.
News and Notes:
Arkansas will close its 2015 spring practice schedule with its annual Red-White Game on April 25 at 1 p.m. in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Attendance to the scrimmage is free and open to the public.

Arkansas stacked. SEC fricked.
Seriously excited that we hired an OC that is committed to being a successful screen team. And I love the thought of our OL showing more athleticism.

Hopefully some of those were WR screens of some sort.

No kidding. Hopefully he is fine. He posted something in twitter last night after the game so maybe that's a good sign. I know the night after I tore my MCL, I didn't want to talk to a soul.

Practice update from Otis Kirk at 247:
Arkansas has now used three of its 15 practices this spring and will be off until March 31. The Hogs practiced in pads for the first time on Thursday. Here's three things to know after one week of spring football.
1. Wide Receivers Have Depth
Everyone knows that senior Keon Hatcher and sophomore Jared Cornelius are going to be returning starters. Both have drawn praise from Michael Smith, Dan Enos and Bret Bielema. However some others are also coming along. Damon Mitchell reportedly got banged up a little during Thursday's practice, but he is having a very good spring and appears set to help the team this fall. One observer at practice says that of all the wide receivers Drew Morgan is the one who appears to have made vast strides as far as quickness and agility. Enos has said the wide receivers will be more involved in the offense this season and it appears the receivers have taken that to heart. Cody Hollister and Jojo Robinson are also impressing observers. Dominique Reed, LaMichael Pettway and Deon Stewart will all be here in the summer and are expected to help. One insider said Pettway may really surprise some people. Everyone is expecting big things from Reed.
2. Anyone Able to Cover Him?
Hunter Henry is impressing observers at practice, but the tight end who has caught the eye of some observers is true freshman Will Gragg. Sources indicate Gragg is getting open and is proving to be very difficult to defend. That is hardly a surprise to anyone who has seen Gragg play and also perform at Arkansas' camps. As a ninth-grader, he was offered by the Razorbacks. Why? Because he was beating any defensive back who tried to defend him. Gragg and quarterback Ty Storey as well as quarterback Rafe Peavey wowed camp observers many times. As a senior at Dumas, Gragg caught 42 passes for 456 yards and two touchdowns. Gragg is a perfect example of someone who may not be the fastest tight end at a combine or similar event, but put the pads on him and he wins far more battles than he loses.
3. It's a Battle
In Thursday's closed practice with pads, sources indicate one battle that was worth watching was defensive end Ja'Michael Winston against right tackle Dan Skipper. The two went at each other with one winning one battle and other winning the next one. Winston is someone Bielema has praised for his maturity. He started 12 games last season and is one of the leaders on this year's defensive line. Skipper has moved over to right tackle from left tackle.

Couldnt run screen plays last year, but we could run toss sweeps. Always made me mad.

We shouldn't have been running toss sweeps either last year.

Has there been any confirmation on whether or not Juan Day was injured?
Posted on 3/22/15 at 12:23 pm to Jon Ham
None. I wouldn't expect anything until after spring break unless Day himself says something.

Practice starts back up tomorrow.
@BretBielema: Start today with meetings & lifts to get back into the swing of things. Practice resumes tomorrow with full pads & 3rd down install #WoooPig

Even better news is that tomorrow's practice will be open to the media so we'll get a little more coverage than normal.

When I finish school in the summer I'll probably troll Hogville into funding the FleaMarketNews Corp. I'll provide profanity laced updates by the minute, because I'm a good man who aint done nothing wrong to nobody.
