Also hearing KeVaughn Allen isn't going to sign this week/next.
If true, huge news for Hogs.

that would be huge. we need this homegrown talent staying in state. if he flips, that would be huge in getting monk imo.

Yeah, if we could make the Sweet 16 or so, our recruiting would be skyhigh even compared to what it is now which is very good.
Landing Kapita would be huge especially with how most believe Portis is gone after this season.
I asked the Memphis247 guy if he had any new info as to why him and his staff picked Kapita to Arkansas yesterday, but he said no, just same stuff that they've heard and they felt comfortable thinking he ends up at Ark and picking us for the crystal ball, so we'll see.

I wish dick would confirm before publishing a statement. He irritates me how he'll respond on a subject. Then call the kid and have to issue a contradicting statement based on what the kid told him that cancels out his first statement.

If he's holding off til spring that means he's at least giving Mike a chance to show that we can be a contender and showcase a player like him.
It's all we can ask for as fans really. If the coach can't do enough to keep him and the kid goes to a top program I don't think anyone will blame him.

Let's talk about this Kicker from Bentonville. There was a blurb about him in the paper yesterday.
He's been nailing his FG's got range out to 50 yards plus.
I don't know what grade he's in but I think he may be a Jr.
We'd have 3 more wins and they'd be over Top 5 teams if we had a kicking game this year. We need to keep bringing in talent at every position including QB.

Mike isn't going to run a team that "showcases" a player.
Players will have plenty of opportunities to prove themselves, will have the green light to shoot when open, etc. But not at the expense of the team concept. They will have to play D, they will have to put forth effort ever second on the court, etc.

That's Allen's MO though, he plays fast, aggressive, great defense. Obviously he's loaded offensively too.
It's why everyone says he's such a great great fit for our system.
We need him.

The "showcase" isn't going to work. The offense isn't going to be "ran thru" one player who doesn't have to play defense to stay on the court.
3 Years ago, it was "true" due to a lack of players on the bench serviceable enough to prevent it (BJ Young).
Of course some were upset over losing Archie, at the time, best for both parties he took his business elsewhere.
Just something to keep in mind about all these future "one and dones" coming up in state, not one specifically.

Oh for sure, I was just saying how great Allen is for our system in general, his style of play and motor is exactly what we want and always need.
