Greenland and Decatur are having problems with numbers.

Greenland's coach had a great quote. "Kids want to sit in the house and eat honey buns and drink chocolate milk." In 30 years of coaching he said summer turnout was the worst he's ever experienced.

Decatur currently has a little more than a baseball team of players. They're hoping when school starts they can up to 15-16 kids. They currently don't have enough players to even have a complete OL.

Lincoln will be playing Westville, OK again. Scott Davenport was let go after 1 season at Lincoln. They brought in a coach from Newport and will be establishing a spread offense.

Bentonville looks to be the class of 7A again.

Ft. smith Northside should be a fun team to watch with their handful of D1 talents.

Not Arkansas, but 'numbers' related.

Although the overall number of students participating in athletics as a whole in Texas is up, the number participating in football is down.

Are there any high school teams with players going to D1 schools worth seeing around Little Rock?

Will be some good games around you early if you live around Little Rock.

The Salt Bowl: Held at War Memorial. Usually draws 20-26k folks. Big rivalry between Benton and Bryant. Not sure on college talent but the atmosphere should be top notch for High School. Bryant has a DT holding offers from Arizona, Kansas, Arkansas State, among others. This game is 7:30 Sept 4.

3A #1 Smackover takes on 4A power Warren in Pine Bluff Aug 31. Smackover has a WR that's a Hog commit but also holds offers from Bama and Ole Miss among others.

Hope plays at Hot Springs(not too far)October 2. Hope is home to McTelvin Agim. One of the most sought after DE's in the country.

Damarea Crockett plays for Little Rock Christian. He is a RB that has pledged to Boise State.

I'll keep thinking and list other later. That opening Warren/Smackover game may be a dandy. It's at UAPB's stadium. Warren just reloads and Smackover is the favorite to win it all in 3A.

Batesville will cruise through the season only to lose in the state championship game.

Central Arkansas doesn't produce D1 talent per capita like they should.
