I'd be shocked if Robert Foster redshirted.

He is actually one of the freshmen I see being a non-mop up duty/ST contributor. Along with OJ, Mazza, and whichever one of the RBs sets himself apart.

ETA: Obviously Mazza will only play on ST, but you know what I mean.

The running back depth chart is going to be very interesting over the next couple of months. There is A LOT of talent in that backfield.

I know we're returning all our contributors at WR, but I still don't think Robert Foster will redshirt.

I think Kamara, Paige, and possibly T. Jones play too

I'd rather Bateman not redshirt if he is going to be the future QB next year. Would like to see him get some real game experience in mop up duty.

The WR depth on the team next year is going to be ridiculous.

I could definitely see Robert Foster and Dee Liner contributing.

I think liner is an automatic red shirt. He's gonna need some time to add some weight.

Henry
Foster
Foster
Tenpenny
Stewart
Paige
Kamara
Allen
Howard
Jackson
Mazza
Brown
Smith

Will all not redshirt

You guys are really sold on Maurice Smith. Why? I know he's good, but he is that good to get PT?

DBs play special teams a lot. I think he's good enough to get mop up and ST.

Depends on how long they keep up the charade of him playing OLB. As of NSD, that's what they are still telling him.

As I understand it, the guys who get redshirts are viewed as being 4 or 5 year players. The guys who don't are seen as being potential 3 year players.

Each of the last 2 years we've redshirted fewer players than I would've predicted.

Look at last year. We redshirted linemen on both sides (will almost always be the case) and:

Morris - standard for QB
E. Williams - switched positions just before season
Black - would've played if not for injury
Freitag
Griffith - had returning starter(s) at kicker

All DBs, LBs, and RBs played.

There aren't as many open spots for contributors this year as last year, but I expect DBs, LBs, and RBs to play while linemen and QBs to redshrit.

Yeah I would be surprised if Cooper Bateman RS. If he is as good as he is supposed to be, he'll play some this season. I pretty much already view him as #2 behind AJ, given the competition.

No way. Backup is Sims/Morris depending on the situation.

Last year Saban redshirted almost exactly 1/2 the class. I expect similar number this year. Only people that are pretty much guaranteed to play are db's and lb's. I also expect OJ, DH, Kamara and Robert Foster to play. Tyren Jones will red shirt because of his knee.

Why would a relatively minor injury that he got over in a couple of weeks cause him to redshirt?

Why are people already writing off Alec Morris?

I've watched his film and I've watched Bateman's film.

I think Robert Foster and OJ Howard could get some catches if they kick arse right away. On of the running backs will get some carries. I'm not sure who else.
