I think everything going forwRd hinges on the OL. If they get back to being elite then we will do whatever we want. If they don't then we will have to rely on playing matchup games.

This. If Alabama can run the ball at will as well as have a passing game like we did this season, they wil be unstoppable.

I for one expect our O-line to be better next year.

Hate the Kiffin offense. Hated it before the season, during the season and in retrospect.

I can understand having issues with it but "hating it" seems a bit extreme. What kind of offense would you rather us have?

Yea - I hated Dave Raders offense. Not sure how you can hate what Kiffin does.

The only thing that I would like to see change some is to adapt a "run it till they stop it" mentality some times. Against OSU the toss sweep with Henry was eating up yardage. We saw it twice and never saw it again.

I love it. As others have said, my only issue is he needs to run the ball more when it is working. I really hope to see a better OL this year, Cristobal's job should be riding on it.

If an OC ran the shotgun formation in short yardage or goal line situations (or a preponderance of the time in positive down/distance situations), I'd fire him before the end of the game. I don't care whom is the OC, I hate that stupidity.

Like, don't love Lane as a play caller.

I think that's fair. I think he's great at designing plays but does tend to force things when they aren't working....thus the 3 and Out issue I talked about earlier in the thread.

Agree - and sometimes he out thinks himself. But, as I said before, I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that we couldn't line up on first down and routinely get 4 yards on a power play.

AJ shredded teams on the blitz and was able escape the pocket fine during his tenure.

True, but AJ was 100x better on the intermediate passes. Missing on those passes really screwed us at times this year and stalled out a lot of drives.

Agree, but this year's line was worse than those. I think AJ would have gotten sacked a LOT more. Not to mention the happy feet AJ seemed to develop towards the end of 2013 would have gone into overdrive with the pressure he would have felt this year.

AJ hit more of those intermediate throws, but when Blake was on, he had a beautiful intermediate throw. He was capable of threading the needle as good as anyone. But I will admit, sometimes he just wasn't on, and pretty inaccurate.

Would have enjoyed a little more power run. I also wish he would have given Blake the green light to take off after two reads, if necessary. Maybe a few qb designed runs for Blake. Great passing plays though. Overall I'm happy.

If the play calling changes with a better O-line and QB, then I'm ok with it. But, if what we saw last year was what we're going to get, then I'm not a big fan. That kind of play calling and offense is exactly why you can count on Oregon putting up a million points against Meh teams, and then sputtering when they run into a decent offense.

Its strange that we just never fully committed to Blake's legs. We didn't need to run the 2013 AU offense, but we could've used Blakes legs a little more than we did. Of course it doesn't help matters that our read option plays led to a lot of fumbles.
