What was the first real great memory you have from an Alabama football game?

We got season tickets in 1995 when we moved back down south from Metro DC. I generally remember the 1995 Southern Miss win (Todrick Malone on basically the last play of the game), the 1995 Tennessee disaster (Peyton leading the band) and really just how drunk and insane the LSU students sitting next to us were at the 1995 LSU game.

The first season I really remember specifics was 1996, and the best game was the 1996 Iron Bowl. Still, to this day, one of my 2-3 favorite Alabama games of all time.

What about you guys?

My first real memory is of Jay Graham racing 80 yards down the right sideline against us untouched to give Tennessee their 34th point in the first quarter.

Curtis Brown being robbed of a touchdown in the iron bowl a few weeks later is also a terrible memory. I guess my first vivid great memory is the Dennis Riddle touchdown to win the iron bowl

We didn't have espn when I was a kid so we always drove to my great aunts house in Montgomery to watch Tennessee and Auburn games, probably why those stick out

The first game I ever watched live was the 99 Bama/Arkansas game.

The 2nd was the game in the Swamp in 99. 40-39. WOW.

My first "real" memory doesn't even include an on the field event.

My grandfather took me to the 1980 Mississippi State game in Veterans Memorial Stadium in Jackson when I was an infant.

He had an a-hole friend, who was a State fan, that attended the game as well. Well lo and behold State won 6-3 and this friend took a photo of the scoreboard.

A couple years later I was in my grandfather's office and I saw the picture and asked about it. His friend gave it to him as a gift for Christmas in 1981. He is still salty as frick about that picture.

When ESPN2 first started (and all the PPV games) we didn't have it and we used to call into this 1-900 line in which we paid them to play the radio over the phone.

I listened to the 1999 Louisiana Tech loss on speaker telephone. That was awesome.

Almost all my first memories of Alabama football on the field are of us losing heartbreakers.

My first good one might be Watts scrambling for a TD (running through the T) against UT in 02.

The 1989 season. Had Homer Smith and quarterback injuries but a skinny dude named Hollingsworth led us to a 10-0 record and #2 ranking going into the iron bowl. Auburn was more physical than we were and beat us in the first game in the pasture down there. Still went to the sugar bowl and lost to a more physical cane team 33-25. Auburn won its fourth straight against us that year and ruined what had been a magical year for us. First year I watched and understood football was that year and I learned to love the Tide and hate our little brothers.

I vividly remember being at that game.

One of my first memories of being at a game was the 1993 Gator Bowl. I got sick and we left early. My first game was 1992 Ole Miss. I don't remember it.

That was 1989.

I have a vague memory of my parents taking us to their friends' house to watch the 1980 Sugar Bowl(Goal Line Stand) but I can't really remember watching the game. Next memory is Coach Bryant's 315th win, though I only remember them carrying off the field and my grandad crying. Only time I ever saw him cry.

I do remember the first game I went to. I think it was 78 and we played Virginia Tech. Not really a great moment in Alabama history though as we beat the shite out of them.

My first game in person was the 1988 Ole Miss game, aka the Brick Game. I was only 3 but I learned that all respectable Alabama men wanted Curry fired and bricks thrown at his face.

First real great memory was '02 in Knoxville. Kinda young, but right around the age I started to get invested into sports and actually start caring some more. We brought a great crowd, Santonio Beard had a great game, and we stopped that horrific 7-game losing streak to the Vahls. It was awesome.

Yeah one of my first games was the sleet bowl in 2000. That was bad.

Like a lot of you, my first memories are of losses, but my first "great" memory is the '99 SEC Championship game. I was a pastor's kid and we had a "First Saturday night" youth service that night. I was so upset because I couldn't even listen to the game until church was over. I remember running out to the car and turning on the radio just in time to hear Shaun get the last TD. When Eli said the score, "34-7", I think I yelled out loud.

We went out to eat after church and I remember barely being able to contain my excitement because Dad didn't want everybody to know we kept up with it. People in the restaurant around us were talking about it and celebrating. I thought I would explode.

We must be close to the same age. I can vaguely remember watching that 1980 Sugar Bowl as well. I went with my dad and grandfather (both Bama grads) to watch Bryant get 315 in the Iron Bowl.

Didn't we score like 80 points or so?

My first trip to a Bama game was Gene Stalling first game against Southern Mississippi. Brett Favre was their quarterback and we lost 27-24. My dad and uncle didn't think to highly of Gene after this one. I remember tons of Bama fans being pleased to see Stallings go despite the success and mainly because they wanted a modern offense. Much like our LSU brethren just not as bad.

Not that game. I think it was 40-0 or something like that. I really don't remember much from the game itself. I pretty much just remember this guy and his wife in front of us smoking cigarettes the entire game. I was only 5.

And LSU hired Ed Orgeron to replace their guy that had the boring offense. LOL.
