His philosophy is havoc. So they play fast, press, and trap.

Would be so much fun to watch.

I think Marshall is a better coach, but from a "fit" standpoint I actually think Shaka would be the better choice.

Looks like Archie Miller will be making it past the first round with a 10 point win over Providence. If he hits the elite eight again he might start getting as much recognition as his brother.

He already is, but I think he is one of those guys that is willing to hold out until some of these bigger jobs open up. He just signed an extension this past offseason.

It's only symbolic. If he's waiting for something bigger, it'll be awhile and when was the last time a blue blood hired from a midmajor? We triple his salary, he'll listen.

thought so. our local hs coach is a big fan and implementer of his scheme, kinda. father n son, father is hc and changed everything he believed about basketball after attending a paul westhead seminar many years ago. the asst coach son, is a huge shaka fan. offense only system, score as much as humanly possible as fast as possible. results varies. but it is interesting, for the folks that like that kind of ........

Part of me wonders about Howland. Would be a fantastic hire and he's got a great tourney record. Really wondering why there hasn't been much chatter about him alongside Shaka as a second choice.

I think it's Marshall, Howland, and Smart all on their own tier way away from everyone else.

then the other candidates.

ETA: I just hope Wichita goes ahead and loses tomorrow so we can either get a definite no from Marshall or things can get serious, but I just want this coaching search stuff to start happening.

Apparently Howland is getting little or no play with the admin due to his baggage.

I have been a big Shaka fan but since his Final Four appearance 4 years ago, he has slipped a little every year until the last two years have been one and done in The Dance. Slight red flag. Is he slipping?

Marshall would be great but is he really considering it or is he not even talking until his tourney is over one way or the other? I wish we knew if there was a real shot or is he just ignoring us?

After them, Miller and Jacobson are making a strong case for consideration. We would be remiss to overlook them especially for Prohm.

Prohm doesn't impress me at all. Kudos for the guy for wanting job. Go prove yourself. Four years at Murray with only one tourney appearance tells us nothing. Michael Whites resume is similar so Prohms only advantage is his ties to Bama. We've screwed the pooch if we get to this point on our list.

I mean they had a top 25 defense according to Ken Pom. You don't have to play slow, grind it out play to have a great defense.
