Like being in the first nationally televised game in color against Texas, or winning 15 National Titles.

There are others that I can't think of right now that I've known before. I recall some game between us and Ole Miss being the first to do something, but maybe I'm remembering it wrong.

Won the first SEC/Conference championship game.

First Major Conference team to go 14-0

This could be a good thread, and I'll update the OP with any you guys list or any I think of.

We won as many BCS/AP/UPI national titles in 4 years(09-12) than any other SEC team has won in their history. That may not count as a first but it's a very interesting stat nonetheless.

Ohio State went 14-0 in 2002. Alabama may have been the first to go 13-0 though.

Still don't see how (or why) we count '41...no way we were #1 that year...but maybe we were the first to win 14 National Titles...

Nope, not that either...Nebraska went 13-0 in '71...BYU did as well in '84, but they weren't in a major conference...

In 2009 we beat Texas, Florida, and Virginia Tech which all finished in the top 10. Defeating 3 top 10 teams in the final poll is rare but may have been done a few times before.

The 1st may be that we beat all 3 top 10's on a nuetral field.

That was impressive but I think there may have been several teams that have beaten 3 top 10 teams in the final poll before...I thought Bama might've been the first to beat both the #2 (Texas) and #3 (Florida) ranked teams in the final after season poll (we beat #10 Va Tech as well) but the '71 Nebraska team beat us to that as well; they beat the #2 (Oklahoma), #3 (Colorado), and #4 (Alabama) ranked teams in the final AP poll that year. The '71 Huskers were impressive...I remember watching the "Game of the Century" against Oklahoma on TV and that was an awesome game...and I remember watching Johnny Rodgers and Nebraska crushing us (and my spirit) in the Orange Bowl when I was 9...

I figured beating 3 teams in the final poll had been accomplished before. Has anyone beat all 3 at a nuetral site?

I believe 2009 Alabama was the first team in CFB history to beat the #1 team and the #2 team in back-to-back games.

That would be awesome but what about 2008 Florida. They beat us in the SECCG and then Oklahoma for the BCSNC. We were #1 and Oklahoma was #1 or #2.

I think we have been the highest ranked team to win a bowl game in the AP (11 times) and coaches (10 times).

I'm surprised no one said we're the first team to win back to back championship in the BCS era. ( I don't count USC's 03 title)

The Scott Hunter vs. Archie Manning game. I believe that was the first nationally televised primetime college game.

We gave up a 95 yard passing TD last year, and scored on a 99 yard passing TD last year.

Is that a first? Give up and score on a 95 yard+ passing TD in the same season?

Bama won the first Bowl Alliance (later BCS) title against Miami. Never before had the #1 and #2 team been matched in a bowl.

I also believe Bama was the first southern team to beat an Ivy League team when y'all beat Penn in the early 20's I think. It was a huge upset at the time and i remember reading that the score of the game was put up on a wall outside a laundromat or something in tuscaloosa and didn't come down for like 30 years.

Thought I heard that Alabama was the first team to go undefeated in the SEC twice in a row. That doesn't sound right though, seeing as I'm talking about 2008-09.

How? They didn't have a conference championship game back then, did they?
