Not trying to interrupt the understandable melt, but if it hasn’t been pointed out already, 5 SEC teams played without their starting QB.

Four of them lost.

The sky hasn’t fallen, at least not yet.

There’s the Sunday sunshine pump, we can now return to the regularly scheduled melt.

Meh, without the turnovers and missed FGs, this game would have been a comfortable win. All that stuff is correctable. and we'll be fine.

I believe you're correct. One of the things I've noticed the last three or four years is the fact he is nowhere near as demanding for perfection as he used to be. I don't think he will leave in 2 years because I think he's scared to death not being on a team, he said that much in an interview. But, I think he's listening to way too many sports psychologists within the program that has essentially talked to him into changing his approach as he's gotten older. He doesn't have that make your arse quit attitude anymore.

we have been saying that since the season began, even NS has talked about it. Players still doing stupid stuff like the push that got 15. Holding penalities on our DB's. Poor ball security. Even after 4 had two fumbles he was running in traffic with poor ball security. Not high and tight and not two hands on the ball as initial contact was made. YOu dont change that bad habit over night. You dont change how uncomfortable he is in the pocket over night either.

frick Bill O'Brien and frick anybody still defending or rationalizing his shitty brainless playcalling which can't even have out offense running consistently with a Heisman QB and NFL RB.

This is my main complaint. He continues to fail at putting our offense and the players in the best position to succeed.

After that I am just happy we won. Probably feel about the same way Saban did after the game. What did you want him to say? We did not execute, made to many mistakes, and got lucky to win. That was obvious to anyone that watched the game.

We missed two FGs, turned over the ball 4 times(could have been 2 more INTs but again got lucky), our 2nd string QB is not ready to throw the ball in a live game, and we had to win by stopping the last play of the game in a goal line stance. Defense made some mistakes late but they made far more plays than they did mistakes and won that game for us.

Again we got lucky to win the game and very happy it was not against Tennessee.

Have you considered Nick understands today's youth (youth) a little better than yourself?

JMO but it going to get worse. Look how some of our players actually conduct themselves on the field and Nick doesn't address it when they come to the sideline. Then again, I am old. It's just night Alabama as you well know and see each week. Showing class isn't a large part of the game anymore.

I hear what you're saying, but I keep going back to a Deion Sanders tweet he put out a year ago where he said "kids have not changed coaches have changed and they're doing a disservice by coddling them and not being tough on them". I have five younger kids myself and one that plays college football, and yes I do understand youth today. Kids want and need structure and discipline in their lives.

I’ve taken enough time to let emotions die down from last night. We were extremely lucky to have escaped with a win last night. Most times, Arnold would have drawn a PI call on the last play; he had his left arm draped around the A&M receiver. With that being said, here’s what I observed:

Offense: The offensive line is playing much better; Seth is definitely an upgrade and it shows in our rushing attack and pass blocking adjustments. Without Young, we are having to rely on Gibbs, who is a tremendous talent. While Milroe’s play was very, very poor, I saw very little scheming from our OC to put him in a position to succeed. He cannot pass the ball effectively whatsoever, and he was really pressing to make plays, resulting in him staying in the pocket for far too long many times. A major, major problem is our OC. O’Brien is a poor play caller that can neither adjust his scheme to what the defense will give us, or to the talent that he has. He did not have Young back there last night, but he called much of the games as if he did. Our OC is one of the most stubborn play callers I have observed; whether the scheme is working or not, he will stay with it instead of adjusting, if he is able to at all. Our wrs still cannot get any separation, which is limiting so much that we should be able to do. Our wr recruiting evaluations have been very poor the 2 years prior to this last one, and that is why we have had to rely on the portal for wrs.

Defense: We are a very poorly disciplined team that is underachieving, pure and simple. This is the most talent we have had on a Saban defense, with the probable exception of 2016. We look great against inferior talent, but when we play a team close to our talent level, we are average at best. I heard again and again last night “the only time A&M scored was when we turned the ball over.” It doesn’t matter how the other team gets the possession; the defense is supposed to be able to stop them. We are hot and cold at best. Effective one defensive possession, poor on the next. Pete Golding is a very pathetic coach, and I am sick and tired of hearing him defended. The only reason he isn’t the poorest coach we have had under Saban is because we have OB as our OC, and my statement includes considering Applewhite from 07. We are very, very poorly coached on defense. I am beyond disappointed with this defense. Under a capable coach, it would have been incredible to watch. For those of you who spit out numbers as a defense for Golding, take away the numbers from the Vanderbilts, ULM’s, and Utah St’s, and then tell me what our average defensive numbers look like.

Special Teams: A&M’s punter nullified our return game all night with sky high kicks. We were hurt by having to consistently drive long distances. Will, I just don’t know. The 35 yarder he missed, he was just off last night, and it almost cost us. Our punter had a very good game, and is showing improvement.

As long as we can out talent teams, we are going to win. We have several teams coming up, especially in the postseason (I am assuming we improve enough to get there) that will match up with us much better than A&M did. Can we still win it all? Our potential says yes, and I am still going to pull for the good guys. I am just sick and tired of seeing us slop around out on the field, and I am sick and tired of us making below average qbs like King look like world beaters. We’re Alabama, by God, and we need to play like it still means something to wear that crimson jersey.

Anyone else get get the feeling Saban is leaving after this year? He's going soft.. not upset at coaches, not upset at players, specifically wanted two years from his coaches... I don't know, just feels like nil may have been the last straw with him.

Saban has never criticized players or coaches after a close win, or after a loss. It's not his way, he feels it's counterproductive to building a team. You address problems in practice privately.

With all the 1st round QBs Alabama has had in recent years, why can't we get an elite QB to take over with Bryce is gone? Why aren't all these 5 star QBs knocking down the door to come here??

We have 2 top 10 QBs committed to us right now. Holstein may actually end up a 5 star when all is said and done. We have a 5 star freshman on the team right now. Despite how he played last night Milroe was an elite QB prospect out of high school as well. What are you even talking about?

I think the weakness on defense is the secondary. Which should be really good...

Milroe isn't very good passing, but OC doesn't help him...but Simpson should get a shot...

Kicker chose bad time to miss two...

Saban is softer...doesn't chew arse on the sidelines anymore....he has dropped down to the players standards instead of making them come up to his....Social justice, politics, and age has caused this...

Next week will be difficult even with Bryce...

NS chews arse when we have big leads not during tight emotionally charged games. I feel confident that he chews arse later

all good points but an avg QB looks outstanding when u have great WR and TAM have some good ones. plus their qb bought lot of time backpeddling and avoiding sacks.
Bama WR talent is at the bottom of SEC

Quit whining.

Defensive front 7 was awesome.

OL learning to run block. I would not trade their recent experience for anything. If Bryce had been healthy, I doubt we’d ever develop a running game.

Lots of sloppy play that can be cleaned up. We tried to give the game away.

Yes, Milroy should convert to RB.

And, I hope Bryce is back. If he is, we will be a more complete team.

We played sloppy as shite last night & Milroe fumbled twice and threw an interception. He is not an elite QB.

It’s interesting when you realize close games that we win feel like losses, whereas most programs are used to nail-biters like that as normalcy.
I can’t imagine that being normal anymore, and I don’t want to; so freakin spoiled by all the years of greatness.
