We are bitching about the LBers but hell safety play was terrible as well.

Where? From top to bottom we had a more talented team than Clemson last night. But, the areas we are deficient in we are REALLY deficient in.

From top to bottom? Are you high??

The only advantage we had on Clemson is RB, WR, TE and QB. Everything else is off the table. Sorry.

I put that on a lack of pass rush, youth in other spots of the secondary and a green DC.

Lupoi is suspect but the lack of front 7 depth can't be overcome on the sideline or in the booth.

This. I can't remember the last time Bama had LBers that were this bad at reacting to a play.

That has to fall on the coaching. It was hard to miss for anyone who watched Training with the Tide that Tosh was over his head. (Really wasn’t impressed with Locksley either)

I thought we had an advantage at QB, but clearly we didn't. Football Jesus made big throws all night...and he didn't turn the ball over.

You tripping. Relax and look at our defensive talent and look at Clemson's defense. Defensive line is a wash but Clemson wishes they had the talent we have at LBer and in the secondary. Our OL was better than Clemson's.

I think our lack of a pass rush and our LB play makes it seem like we don't have talent on our defense. But, that's far from the truth. We knew our secondary was inexperienced but talented.

Clemson's DL was way better the Bama's other than Williams.

You are the one with the bullshite. I've been watching Saban teams for nearly 30 years now and I can't recall him ever having a new secondary that played lights out. His system isn't a system that is plug and play. Guys have to mature into his system.

Quinnen yes. The rest? Obviously not.

Jonah Williams is just above average at LT and probably better at RT.

Dexter Lawrence didn't take the field and the OL looked bush league as shite

And, our OL was better than theirs. Our LBers and secondary are better than theirs talent-wise too.

OL looked bush league but the offense put up over 500 yards? Make that make sense.

I think he gets moved to center in the NFL.

Mack's body type and skill set are that of 3-4 WIL or a 4-3 SAM. They have him playing Mike. He does not have the vision, instinct, and Alpha required to destroy the trenches in tight quarters against guys 60 to 80 pounds bigger than he is.

That is not a Mack issue, it is a coaching and recruiting issue.

Mosley is a 4-3 WIL body type and skill set, We have him playing 3-4 WIL. That requires a little more close quarters alpha than he is accustomed to and the vision to handle attacks from any direction rather than just weak side guard to weak side sideline responsibilities.

The vision to handle shite coming at you from anywhere and still be able to read your keys and react quickly is not an easy skill to pick up. Back in the day the coaching staff attempted to convert me from what is now called a Jack LB to a Mike LB. After years of setting the edge and crashing, I could not make the mental jump to Mike without it dramatically slowing my reaction time. Being a step slow in my reactions also got me a final ride on a cart to the training room.

Mack and Mosley are trying to do what is being asked of them but think of it this way. As great of a player and heart as Josh Jacobs has, how well would he do if you plug him in a center and tell him he has to go out and win the day. That is what Mack and Mosley are doing. Do not give them hell, they are giving the team and coaches everything they have but they are out of position and outside of skill set.

Mack and Dylan regressed this season under two young DCs. Go back and look at last season and what those two were becoming. Furthermore, do you think Clemson has any LBer that will be drafted before Dylan and Mack? Talent isn't our issue.
