A Day

a few things stand out to me

ScarBo had literally no chance, he was hit a millisecond after getting the ball on almost every play, and when he wasnt getting immediately hit in the backfield he was getting gang tackled at the los. it was brutal, but through no fault of his own

Blake Barnett was the most impressive looking qb to me, made the best throws with timing (outside of cornwell's big pass to ridley)and was actually going through his progressions

the dline is going to be spectacular. they were incredible against the run even without allen, and there was no time to pass for any of the 1st team qbs all game.

cam sims and kief both looked really good, made some great athletic catches

Christian Miller looks like a Tim Williams clone from a year ago, lest hope he progresses in the same way

Bateman had his best passes dropped, could have had a somewhat better looking stat line.

the guy on the 1st team oline that had the best rep against williams that i saw the whole game was Lester Cotton.

Was a sack master in high school. Hopefully he still has it.

Yeah I think Miller plays something like Evans did last year. He's really talented and has big time rushing AND covering potential. Big time asset on 3rd down.

That's encouraging to hear about the Dline. It's mind boggling how we can just plug and play like that with no drop off. We're losing TWO first round draft choices with what seems like no drop off.

That's nothing short of incredible.

We are not super deep at DL from what I saw in the spring game. The second team OL won the day in the run game hands down. Of course we got our incoming recruiting class to plug in a few guys on the DL. Not worried about it. But this DL will not be impossible to run against. Last year teams could not run between the tackles.

We got one junior college player coming in that should help with depth, hopefully will add another one next week.
As far as the freshman DL coming in, I don't know if many will play much.
Kendall Jones is going to need to lose about 30 pounds.
Raekown Davis is a project and will likely redshirt.
Quinnen Williams and Terrell Hall if he plays DE and not OLB will probably play the most as freshman.

Sure about that?? Kendall Jones looks VERY well put together.. Not much(if any) bad weight to him... I mean he looks WAYYYYY better than Terrance Cody now(even when Cody hit the field for Bama).. I think he will get PT immediately... Especially against teams like LSU and Arkansas... We'll need him in those games...

Jones weighs like 360 pounds, he will need to be around 330 to see meaningful snaps.

Daron Payne and Josh Frazier will play at the nose tackle spot over Jones against the likes of Arkansas and LSU.

I thought OJ Smith did pretty well on that line, more than Frazier did.

I think Jones will be down close enough to whatever they want him to be, to play. I wouldn't doubt if he and Davis had small roles this year.

Forgot about Smith, hopefully he can step up this year and provide quality depth on the DL.

you have to also consider that the 2nd team ol had some pretty good and experienced players, especially at guard. Bozeman and shank (who started all of last year) have alot more experience than the 2nd team dl, both of those guys have run with the 1s. Shank likely will be back starting if he drops the weight. we are a bit thin at DT, are waiting for some freshman and juco help to arrive for depth

I think you are confusing Kendall Jones the Junior:

With Kendall Jones the Senior:

He got fatter.

Good lord, he's kind of scary looking. The helmet is very ominous.
