Stick to the 'Bama board and More Sports section. These are the only places where actual general sports discussion takes place imo, although the salty/irrational LSU hatred for 'Bama definitely still bleeds over. The Rant is pretty much useless these days unless you're looking to troll.

I'm 100% sick of it. If it weren't for all this Saban / DeBoer stuff, I wouldn't even be touching it. I fking hate what the SEC Rant has become. Truly.

Most of the people who post on the Rant just aren't clever. Your 12-year old virgins comment seems about right.
Some people come in with some clever stuff, but having to wade through the pool of garbage to get there isn't worth it. I'm certain that board limits this website's growth. Not all engagement is good engagement.

And that's the trolling it used to be, and i liked that. sometimes you had extreme anger behind it, but that didn't irk me at all like these infantile pieces of shyte you see these days.

I start there, scan the post headlines and usually head straight here. Then MS, OT and out. The Rant is fair for breaking news. And that’s about it. I was in favor of a board for those who registered more than say 10 years ago.

It has also bled over to the O-T Lounge where any news that is shared from the state of Alabama is quickly responded/trolled with an incest joke or a Rawhl Tahd! It's like these people wake up with Bama on their mind. They have truly been broken

Doesn't bother this 12-year-old one bit. I got to work from home for a couple of days and watch the rant melt-down to the point that the hamster powering it was on life support.
It's funny. This whole process took 48 hours, not what the media wants at all. Remember when it took 6 weeks with Brian Kelly or when Freeze was hired? Also, this happened so fast, the rant can't really do much. Most importantly, in a few weeks it will be treated like the FSU debacle -- no one will think about it.
Honestly, it is better to do one of a couple of things. Either stay away completely, or hit it head on. I preferred the latter, this time. Any threads I created caught a significant group of bottom-feeders.
I do however, understand those who don't agree.

I originally came to the Rant because it was the only place you could talk football online with fans of other schools and not have to deal with constant trolling. The people on the board back then actually took pride in that. How the turntables, I guess.
