Great offensive outing, but I think we need to find a way to start establishing some scoring in the paint. Along with this, Taylor had 0 rebounds if I'm correct. He's got to do a better job of not getting in foul trouble early on. But do his defense, those officials were literally calling everything any time either team drove to the basket. Forty-two FT's for ULL.

I did like how Coleman and Norris look. Coleman used to look a little tentative, but he seemed to have some confidence about him last night that makes me think going forward, he's going to start opening it up. Having him and Norris come in and contribute off the bench is huge.

Still a lot of work to be done for this team if they're going to make any noise going forward, but it was a good step in the right direction.

Huge test next game, going up against Xavier. They just took down Michigan 86-70.

If it weren't for foul trouble, I think Taylor could have gotten around 16-18 points. He was getting deep position in the paint against Long and being extremely aggressive. It was nice to see.

Bama needs to clean up the rebounding and fouling.

With the way the officials are calling the early games, I think it'll be impossible not to foul unless you give them clear paths for a layup.

Hopefully we can correct the rebounding though. All our post players get showed around like rag-dolls.

Yes, but it kind of started last year when they were basically taking away any defender reaching in. However, yesterdays game was a bit excessive. They called EVERYTHING and anything.

Xavier looking like a really tough match up.

They are 3-0 with three double digit wins, including a 16 point win @ #24 Michigan.

Yeah, this one may be another large defeat unless we somehow find a way to score in the paint. They've got a 41% field goal percentage and are shooting close to 37% from beyond the arc. Good news it that they only have 7 blocks on the year (2 bpg), but their big man inside, James Farr, is averaging 10 rebounds per game.

For us to have any shot in this game, we've got to win on the backboards, get their main man Trevon Bluiett in foul trouble, and have Hale, Obasahan, and Edwards come up big. I'm confident Norris and Coleman can score coming off the bench, but we need Kessens inside to provide some threat to score in the paint and open up the perimeter to Hale and Obasahan.

We don't know how good anyone is at this point so early in the season...Michigan may or may not be just as good or bad as they had been last season when they lost to NJIT. So let's not automatically assume Xavier will dominate us.

I'm looking forward to it. It'd be nice to be competitive and build off the good win against ULL. Obviously we aren't going to shoot as well as we did against them, but it sure would be nice

Plus we got destroyed by what should be a good Dayton team and beat what should be a good ULL team, so we have really no idea what to expect from this team.
