The schedule gods did me a favor and have Petty playing tomorrow before the Arab Girls game. I can't wait to get to see the guy play in person one more time before he's in Crimson. Hopefully he will put on a show.

I'm glad we don't play Virginia. That smothering defense of theirs would hold us in the 20-30 range

Right now- yes. Next year when we have better play makers and more reliable scorers? Doubt it. Virginia's offense is ranked 79th right now in offensive efficiency. Their suffocating defense is good, but can only carry them so far. Of their 9 losses, 5 of them coming because they couldn't even break 60.

It really is irritating to know that Gonzaga has been the tournament every year since 1999 . I know they play in a fairly weak conference, but the perception of the Zags is that they choke almost every year, but at least they make it to the tournament and are usually in the top 15. People wouldn't know, but they're going to tie Alabama this year in tournament appearances with 20. We also have 1 more sweet 16 appearance than them, and just 1 less Elite 8 appearance. Both haven't been to the final 4. I could have sworn the Zags had at least 1 or two final four runs.

We also have one more Collin Sexton and one more John Petty than they do

how would that even be possible? He already signed and it's almost the offseason for his first collegiate year.

Goes to Europe/Asia, decides to sit a year, gets in trouble, etc.

It's not probable, but it's possible.

Y'all imagine if players had to stay 3 years in basketball, and if Ferguson had stayed eligible and signed here-

Iron Bowl of Basketball 2019 starting lineups
Bama:
Sexton SO
Ferguson JR
Petty SO
Key JR
Giddens JR RS

Auburn:
Jared Harper JR
Herron JR
Purifoy JR RS
EJ Montgomery FR
Wiley SO

That group would bring some quality basketball

Their lack of Final Fours shows how overrated they are. They are good, probably 15-20 most years. Probably top 10 lower half this year. But when you play a two game conference schedule against St Mary's and get some big OOCs early in the year every year when maybe they aren't their best, it's easy to be 25-3 every year. Even this lousy Bama team would have 20+ against their schedule. They are the basketball version of Boise St.: everyone's favorite Cinderella/mid-major.

In a Power 5 league they would be Maryland, Minnesota, Arkansas, Iowa St., or California; a good, upper tier non-championship team

Just imagine the teams Kentucky and other blue bloods could field, too.

IMO one and done helps the blue bloods because they can get the best players every single year. Kentucky wouldn't be able to put together these classes if they only had 1 or 2 scholarships every year.

Man I really hope we win tomorrow. I know at this point it doesn't matter one way or another bc our tourney hopes are done, but I just want to see their mental toughness kick in and finish strong. I don't expect to go 2-0 this week. I'm going with 1-1 but 0-2 is very possible.

I want to get to 20 wins so bad. We're 16-12. It can be done.

Not really even sure what to expect tonight. I think we'll win, but Ole Miss can get hot at anytime.

Tonight's the last night we'll get to see Jimmie's globe rotation free throw in Coleman.

We give Jimmie a hard time but I really do appreciate what he's done while being at Bama. He's worked hard and improved all around. He even got a little better on free throws. He's never complained one bit, even when he got replaced in the starting lineup by Hall. He's been a good team player and had some really good games for us. He's also gave us plenty of entertainment with his style of free throw shooting

I'm gonna miss Jimmie

I agree he deserves credit for staying with it through a coaching change and losing a starting spot. He's also had some good games for us and improved over time, but I'd be lying if I said I'm going to miss him.
