Well, Alex Reese had 24 points, 4 blocked shots, and 17 rebounds against Wetumpka. Pelham put the hurtin' on us.

Might need to start giving Justin Allison a look. Guy went 5-5 from beyond the arc, and 8-8 from the field. Could be a solid role player off the bench.

Collin Sexton said in an article today that he hopes Coach Avery will let him keep his free throw routine the same as he's always had it. His routine is where all of our team will go to the other end of the court and set up for defense while he shoots free throws. He rarely misses them. After he makes a free throw, he gives high five to the air where our players would usually be standing.

Making McDonald's All American Game was a goal, not a dream, for Collin Sexton

On John Petty

quote:

“I cannot wait to play with him,” Sexton said. “He plays the right way and he plays hard all the time, like me. We’re going to match each other’s intensity.”

Thanks for posting the article. Went to find it and got distracted and forgot lol.

Yeah him and John Petty are going to be a fun duo to watch

At first that sounds like a terrible idea, but if he can make them at a 90%+ clip, then I'm all for it.

This is pure pipe dream and speculation on my part so that's right up front but here's my premise: The SEC has done well enough to earn 4 bids IMHO. That's still less than 1/3 of the league and I think the committee will try and give us that. Big Blue, UF and SC have all played their way in. They are locks. So who's the 4th team? There's a group of teams in the middle of the pack that keeps jostling for position including Bama. They are us, Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Georgia.
I'd put Arkansas in the drivers seat right now because of their record but that have some ugly losses of late and arent playing well. Ole Miss is flying under everyone's radar with no big wins and no bad losses. Bama and UGA are up and down, inconsistent. I can envision a scenario down the stretch and through the SEC tourney where Arkansas and Ole Miss play their way out of a bid and Bama wins a few down the stretch, including beating Ole Miss and we get the bid by default. Not because we win 6 in a row or anything crazy like that but because everyone else loses the wrong games and costs themselves the bid. Is that as crazy as it sounds or could it happen? Opinions?

Most will tell you the committee doesn't look at bids per conference, but last year IMO the only reason Vanderbilt got in was to be the 3rd SEC team. The bubble is pretty weak this year too.

I still think the target is 20 wins at least. We probably need 21. Also, UT is right on the bubble too.

Arkansas won at South Carolina the other day so they have another good win. I would put them way ahead of everyone else. I think Alabama, Tennessee, and Georgia are the only other teams with a shot

Per rolltide.com there are only a handful of singles available for today's game.

Again, if Alabama basketball shows any signs of life, Alabama people will show up and pack the arena. It's been like that for forever, and especially the last 7-8 years with Grant and CAJ.

If anyone needs another reason to hate Baylor, turn it to their game vs. Kansas.

Pretty good summation of the last few weeks of the regular season from RollBamaRoll.

quote:

However they do it, Avery Johnson’s team just needs to find a way to win. a 16-10 (9-5 SEC) record puts Alabama in position to make something happen with two weeks left in the regular season. For one, it would keep the Tide on track for the fourth and final double-bye in Nashville. Secondly, it would also keep Alabama’s slim NCAA Tournament hopes alive, as three of the Tide’s last four opponents all rank in the current top-60 of the RPI, so they’ve got some beef left on the schedule. In other words, the table needs to be set before the Tide can run it, and LSU is the last landmine in the way.

Most overlooked thing this season: Ingram is hitting over 48% from three...

I saw that earlier and was shocked. I'd be curious to see his game logs because I can't imagine he took more than maybe 10 the first 15-20 games of the season.

If he gets a good look and is set he can flip it up there. We probably need to encourage him to take it if he's got it given our other options.

He just doesn't shoot enough. If he would take more, that would help him open up lanes to drive.

I went to the Sweet 16 in the Dome the year that Adidas debuted all those highlighter uniforms in the NCAA Tournament. Baylor vs Xavier and Kentucky vs Indiana. I've never seen a group of people stand out more than all the Baylor people (of which there were only like 1,000) in those shirts. It was unbelievable.

Yea, their whole arena is decked out in that shite for this game. They must have given out free shirts for the game. Both of these teams can straight up shoot. I'm jealous

Have watched the last 10 minutes of this Baylor-Kansas game. Great basketball.

A more raw version of Frank Mason is what I picture Collin Sexton being
