I know some of us thought it could be even better than last year. You look at what we return in the secondary, Marlon and Minkah are two of the best corners in the game. Eddie Jackson may be the best Safety. Ronnie Harrison played a lot last year and he's playing well. Averett has the ability, just needs more reps.

Then we return our three best pass rushers, who ideally only get better. Plus Reuben Foster returns. Can we talk about Reuben Foster? He's out there playing the run AND pass at an elite level.

The only real concern was up the middle. Reed, Robinson, and Ragland shut down the run better than anyone else we've had in the Saban era up the middle. Payne is a beast who has stepped in, Tomlinson has added some more bulk and is an experienced guy who is clogging things up. Allen is a freak who is playing near 300 and still one of the best edge rushers in the game.

They were aggressive, they were hyped, and they were determined. JK Scott is gonna pin teams deep, and these guys are gonna eat.

Yes, yes we can. If he keeps this up he will go down as the best LB from the Saban era. There was one play where he jumped the snap up the middle and reached the RB almost before he got the ball. His football IQ seems to have finally met up with his athleticism.

With his great coverage skills he has a really good shot at first round. NFL teams like ILBs that can cover.

you better watch out man...people will get embarrassed or some shite if you're wrong. People on these forums take this thing way too serious and worry about dumb shite. I think you're right though!

Don't want to jinx it, but the balance of talent, experience, leadership and swagger on this team at every defensive position could make this Saban's best D yet. Even better than the near-blameless 2011 defense.

One way to deal with depth issues on the defensive line is to go 3 and out on a regular basis!
