They will only pay based on actual earnings, projections are nothing more than wet dream...kind of like what the LSU fans on TD are having currently.

Next year LHN is expected to earn more and if they lure Saban then you could expect it to probably double or triple.

Even if it triples, $250,000 I think would still be a great deal less than the $1 to $6 mil you suggested above. $250K is little more than a tip next to the rest of the offer. Certainly not enough to make Saban want to make the move.

As for a 10 year $100 mil deal, that is fantastic money and from a business standpoint it is a deal he should look at seriously...but do you really think he plans to coach into his 70's?

How is that for "please continue"?

Where was the name calling? I simply asked if you were really that stupid. Based on your replies, maybe you are?

The fact it is a 10 million a year deal + no income taxes in taxes this is a lot more than the reports of Alabama offering 7mil a year. Alabama is probably offering various other incentives because there is no way it could compete with the financial means of Texas at the moment.
The 1-6 was a bit of an exaggeration I will admit but if LHN continues the way it could then he could reasonably be adding another 250-500k which isn't exactly chump change.

Flesh, why would a thread about a coaching change get moved from the Coaching Changes board to the Rant?

Also, a few more Bama melters would be appreciated.

Valid points.

One also has to consider his age, what he'd be leaving, the instability of the program he's going into (seems there's a lot of chiefs and infighting over there), and the fact he's stated regretting leaving Miami the way he did, which I think is genuine regret. If he left, he'd basically doing the same thing again.

I have no doubt Texas is going to or is gunning for him, but I simply don't believe he's leaving Bama, until he's ready to retire. Maybe I'll be shocked, maybe not.

Well there was a lot of instability when he took over the Alabama program, he would automatically correct instability. His age is the main reason I doubt he leaves, I think he does enjoy Bama and I've stated several times I think he coaches another 4/5 years and then take a AD position at Bama.

The only reason to leave is money and a chance to build another program and add more to his legacy.

Bama only had a handful of chiefs to have willing to let him have full control. Somehow, I don't see that being near as easily done at Texas.

I think luring Saban could stop a lot of that, now if he struggles or doesn't have the success (a National Championship in 3 years) then I think some of those boosters/backers would meddle.
Like I said in other thread, Texas is still filled with quality recruits and wouldn't take much to turn around. Winning kills all the meddling from outsiders except agents. I wouldn't want Saban to leave because he is good for SEC and him going to Texas hurts LSU's ability to recruit

Public Service announcement:

This and any other threads concerning the CC board or rumors of Saban leaving will be anchored from this point forward. Please put future discussion in the "Elephant in the room" thread that began the discussion on here.

Thanks.

And I think it is funny you only believe Alabama fans troll on recruiting, but continue to tell yourself that to feel better.

Can someone tell me about this debt Saban has I keep hearing about? Any truth to it?

Fair enough, tduecen admits he is prone to exaggeration. The use of hyperbole in a discussion while pretending you have anything of use to say negates the value of the point you attempt to make. Might have been better to just admit you had no idea what you were talking about rather than open your mouth and prove yourself to be...
