Had the misfortune of picking up a copy while on campus for the LSU game.

The front page and first two articles are race related. Then we get a LGBTQXYZ+ article. Almost made it through an article about Dreamland without a racial component. Almost. Then it's ended with an opinion piece on racial profiling "people of color."

Wow. This makes the New York Times look like a Breitbart newsletter. It's something you'd see on the UC-Berkley campus. I'm all for having differing viewpoints, but this is nothing but leftist propaganda talking points.

Ashlee Woods and Carson Lott are editors, but that entire "news" group should be embarrassed. Are they all auditioning for jobs at al.commie?

It is a college newspaper my man, not sure what you were expecting. Nothing has changed.

I've seen it many times. I know college kids go left until they grow up and know better, but I've never seen it that bad from front page to the back page.

I was a PR major 2010-2013. The paper was nothing like that when I was there. I had a journalism professor actually want to submit one of my class stories to the Crimson White, but I had to pull it last second as not to possibly harm fundraising efforts by the Million Dollar Band for improved facilities (I played alto) and I also had a photo used in it after I witnessed a skate boarder get hit by a car in front of the business college. His arm went through the wind shield.

It really was a neutral paper back then with a variety of stories. They even ran some really funny April fools articles that would probably never see the light of day today. They did a funny article on the surprising amount of phallic-shaped objects and art located all through campus, including a huge photo of Denny Chimes lol

It's sad how extreme all media has become, from all levels.

College kids (these days especially) and the majority of anyone in media or academia are more concerned with the things of this world rather than looking UP.

I don't remember it being that way in the early 2000s when I was in school there, but regular newspapers probably weren't either. Everything in higher education and journalism has shifted way left.

I was at Bama during this time as well and it definitely was more light-hearted and fun. I don't recall all that much political activist stuff.

It wasn't even this way in 2010-2013 when I was there. Something changed drastically in a very short period of time: I blame Mizzou

When I was in school there, the newspaper was an actual on-campus newspaper that reported about events and news stories from around campus. The only real politics when necessary would revolve around things like the SGA elections, etc.

Now, the people that suffer from mass delusion are running the show.

Pretty much this. In the early 2000s the only political talk in the CW was the lefties from Mallet Assembly crying about the Machine.

If you ever make it out to Moundville Archaelogical Park (administered by UA), they've gone full woke out there with their exhibits. Very patronizing.

You probably wrote the LGBTQXYZ article.

Anyway, like I said, I don't mind opposing viewpoints being discussed, but that was woke leftist BS from the first page to last. Sad that kids are exposed to such stupidity on campus. I was also on campus around 2000 and it was never anything close to that level of pure propaganda. These are the "journalists" UA is producing. Sad.
