but didn't you post on the Rant recently that this conference needs a good program at UT

Fvck no

I do enjoy the individual games when Tennessee and Auburn are good because it makes everything more exciting. So, in that way, sure, I wouldn't mind Tennessee being more proud and bringing more to the table. But, no, in no way could I ever "hope" Tennessee and Auburn would be good. And, frankly, Alabama doesn't "need" anybody to be good, and I don't give a frick about what the conference needs.

Finebaum reporting that according to his sources, Butch to be fired immediately following the Alabama game.

I'd love seeing someone walk down the sideline in the middle of the 3rd quarter, whisper something in his ear, see him drop his head, and hand over his headset as he walked to the tunnel. They stop him at the entrance of the tunnel and make him go out the gate into the seats.

I do hope it's a record breaking beatdown and shutout. However, his fate may already be a done deal. From VolNation:

Just a matter of when they will officially announce it now.

...Butch was allowed to resign instead of being embarrassed by a firing. In return the buyout gets cut almost in half. He doesn't wanna be here anymore so it's a win win for both sides. Case closed.

Tifwiw, but the poster sounds certain and others are saying it's not a very well kept secret.
