What is this helicopter daddy bullshite?

quote:

Galu Tagovailoa, the father of starting quarterback Tua and his younger brother, freshman backup Taulia, has had a strong relationship with Sarkisian dating back to Tua’s youthful days in Hawaii. With Sarkisian back in Tuscaloosa after two years in the NFL, his longtime friend, Galu, was a regular during practices this spring, according to sources inside Alabama athletics. Galu even worked with his sons at times.

quote:

Galu, a self-styled quarterbacks guru, is not officially on staff, but the father of Tua and Taulia has had a growing impact at Alabama over the last few months. He’s acting as a quarterbacks consultant behind the scenes for the offense, and is a consistent presence around the program. For the next few years, few others around Alabama football will have the power to affect the program quite like the Tagovailoas’ father.

I can't be the only one concerned with this...

He has always been that way. The reason Tua and Taulia are here are because he controls their lives.
Personally hate it, but this isn't some new shite.

I'm not a big "TRUST SABAN" kind of guy, but when it comes to who does what inside the day to day or the program and who is allowed access and who isn't and all of that stuff.......I'mma trust Saban.

I see nothing wrong with this at all. Even June Jones speaks highly of Gaul

Is he a good coach and a positive influence on his kids? If so, I don't see the problem.

Hypothetically asking, Think this is a way to pay his dad for a job because of the "consultant" role?

No, he's not on the staff.

I seriously doubt this. Sark would have been welcome at just about any college program and turned down an NFL job of the same position to be here.

I'm pretty sure Sark would have been here regardless in terms of Saban wanting him.

That said, it might be true that Sark wouldn't have taken the job if not for the QB's he was going to coach.

I'm not clicking that link but I'd bet there is nothing whatsoever to support this being anywhere near the case.

Saban hired Sarkisian once already but he opted for the NFL instead. Dan Enos would have been O.C. but he relocated.

He’s a great father and produced to top notch kids that committed to Alabama. Ill allow it. Helicopter or not, its their culture and it works.

Tua and his brother both were elite QBs before they showed up to UA

May be too many cooks in the kitchen but at least this cook knows how to cook

Seeing that Tua is one of the best passing quarterbacks of my lifetime, I think dad knows what he is doing.

I don’t love it but it’s a culture thing. Anyone who wanted Tua and Lia was going to have to deal with this. It’s a trade I’ll gladly take considering we are very likely to have 6-7 straight years of his sons starting at QB for us.
