Thoughts on this matchup?

OU has a better QB than when we last faced them, but we have a better secondary since then. We have a worse QB than we did in 2013 but more motivation.

What's the overall feeling on OU from the ASB?

OU is 4th in the nation with 37 sacks and are 25th and 24th in total defense and scoring defense respectively. Their RB has found his grove again after a slow start. That to go along with Mayfield at QB. So win against will certainly not be easy. I'd rather face MSU or Iowa.

One thing I've noticed is that teams have had most of their success running against Oklahoma, at least to the extent that they DO actually run in the Big 12. They're 48th in the nation against the run, and they've only faced like 3 teams with any sort of ground attack at all. Texas gashed them, and Baylor was moving the ball pretty well on the ground until they went all Big 12 and started slinging it like crazy after going down by one score. Also if you'll recall, Tennessee totally abandoned the run late in their ballgame for whatever reason.

On defense I have absolutely no worries against Oklahoma. When the offense just does enough to keep the defense rested, this unit can stop anyone. Dak was held pretty much in check, LSU's offense was crushed, Georgia's was crushed, A&M's ultimately stalled, and Ole Miss probably doesn't score 20 if they aren't gifted 5 turnovers.

I think they are probably the second best team right now after us. Would look forward to it. I'd love to get revenge.

Would be a really good football game that could go either way.

I admit, if I was a Notre Dame fan, I would be pissed right now.

Yeah, I don't think it's a great matchup for our offense with their speed on defense. I could see it being a 24-20 type game that could go either way.

Oklahoma will probably move down to 4 after championship weekend if one of Iowa/MSU emerge from the Big10. It would then be

Clemson
Alabama
MSU/Iowa
Oklahoma

Much more likely IMO.

The committee seems to want Clemson at number one, and they are unlikely to lose any. Plus beating up on Auburn and dismantling a broken Florida squad isn't going to make us jump too far. But yeah, Oklahoma will likely be #4 if they beat OK State. Although it would be a toss-up between ND and Oklahoma.

I really hope we draw them in the first game. I like our chances with a lot of time to prepare.

It'll be different this time our guys will actually be into the game vs just going through the motions of being in a bowl game...Henry was the only one who actually acted like he wanted to be there

You don't put up 520 yards of offense just going through the motions. Oklahoma played a hell of a game that night and made a lot of plays. shite happens.

I don't really look forward to that matchup. I haven't watched much OU this year, but from what I've read, it looks like we might be again facing the best other team in the CFP.

Maybe OU has a run D weakness. If they do, maybe we'd actually exploit it this year. 2013 shitty arse Texas ran all over theem, but we refused to. I couldn't figure that out. Almost like the coaches didn't care about winning and just wanted to give seniors AJ, Norwood, and Bell a showcase.

Oklahoma stats if you were wondering:
Rushing defense: 48 (we have played 7 better rushing defenses, 8 after we play UF)
Passing defense: 30 ( we have played 3 better passing defenses, 4 after we play UF)
Scoring defense: 25 (we have played 2 better scoring defenses, 3 after we play UF)

Scoring offense: #3 (Haven't played anyone better than them)
Rushing offense: #19 (We've played one better rushing offense, LSU)
Passing offense: #15 (We have played one better passing offense and lost, OM)

As strange as this is to say, defense may be our bigger worry than offense if we faced off against them.

I want us to play Oklahoma. I don't even care how tough it would be.
