I don't mind close, tense games if they are that way throughout.

Tonight's game was the The WORST type of game. A game you are up comfortably and should easily put away and for no reason at all let the other team back in and have to sweat and grind it out.

We won though, and an SEC road win is usually a tough nut.

No doubt. In college it is hard as hell to regain momentum once you lose it.

My general rule (or emotion cycle) is once we go up 2 scores I get comfortable.

Except that only applies while watching TV. Being at the game I'm always semi nervous but never nearly as nervous as at home. Apparently my brain things I can effect the outcome sitting in U1

Why was this game tense for folks? I definitely agree that we lost our poise and the momentum but the game was never really close once we got up 24-3.

They had all the momentum, the crowd was going nuts, and they were on the doorstep about to cut it to 7 with like 9 minutes to go before Minkah got that pick.

The game was very much in doubt.

Honestly the only time I got "we might lose" nervous was when we were punting at our own 1.

Once they got the safety and then started at their own 25 down 12 I felt totally fine. I was pissed, but not nervous.

Kirk catching a rushed punt on the run at our 40 down 14? Nervous. That safety worked perfectly.

I felt confident that they weren't going on 2 long TD drives and making us go 3 and out twice all in 10 minutes.

Maybe I look at it different but at that point they would have had to score three times to go up and 11:45 minutes to play AND our defense was playing pretty good (for the most part).

Not slamming anyone who was tense. We are just different and I was curious.

This game seemed from about the 2nd quarter on, IMO, that it was destined to end the way it did. Or worse.

Sort of had the Camback feel to it, also.

But, when you add it all up, it was a good, not great, game for the Crimson Tide. And if that results in a win, then all is well.

I never thought we were going to lose but it definitely felt uncomfortable around the 8 minute mark.
