How in the world did he get the job at Alabama? He's a G5 type coordinator at best. He doesn't play to his qb's strengths. Just a very uninspiring and boring coordinator.

The day Saban hired a guy his school didn’t want was the day I knew the GOAT was getting tired…

Because negative recruiting against Saban. It's just just kids out of high school it's other coaches and it's a much tougher sell now versus 5-10 years ago to be a coordinator for Saban

Think he is still trying to figure out what we can do consistently besides bad snaps and drive killing penalties.

I don't think Rees was world beating but he did a decent job trying to find some semblance of an offense this year. Jury is still out... He is an upgrade over BoB

Watching this Wash/UT game...its evident. Its not that Rees didnt dial up some creativity, its that id didnt come
near enough when it was needed

People are defending him too.

It amazes me that Kiffin, Sark, etc can get players half as talented as Milroe and Ty Simpson to be big time...just by scheming.

Yet on this forum so many would rather expect the limited QB to make his own plays instead of the damn OC we pay millions

I mean Michigan's OC was scheming up some magic to trick our defense.

So much movement and mismatching. We couldn't even get our OC to consistently move the pocket or use bootlegs.

The final play was there. There was a seam but Seth shitty snap threw everything off

This is still true. I’d like Saban to do some interviews this offseason though. I think we can do a whole lot better

Worst part about Rees is whenever he actually decides to use Milroe’s legs he always runs plays to the short side of the field

It's so predictable and infuriating

Hard to get to mismatches when a team is sitting in a zone.

There was no seam man. Three players missed blocks on that play (TE, #77 and guard)

They also had a defender squeezing.

Why can't people just admit the call was horrendous? Heck even the trolling SEC scoreboard admitted that!

Attack the soft spots with quick slants. We ran none.

Attack their space with outside runs. We ran only a few.

What we should do is continually run at their middle in short yardage situations

Ystar, they will rather trash milroe because they didn’t wanna like him anyway. Our offense looked like Purdue all year. No motion no jet sweeps. We have so much talent on offense and it just gets wasted. Kendrick Law is such a mismatch. Sark would’ve ran Michigan out of Pasadena with the same personnel.

Basically.

I don't get it. The play calling was horrendous. We refused to run a rollout in the first half FFS.

It's like Rees needs halftime for someone else to tell him what to do.. then he forgets sometime in the second half.

We had so much space on the edges and he refused to attack there.

Heck that last play I would have taken a quick slant over that stupid draw with our blockers getting shredded

You don't look for mismatches in zone. You find the holes. It's not even that hard. You just run to where there's no defender.

Zone is much easier to beat than a team that can play man consistently. BAMA's problem is that it takes a qb that can complete an intermediate pass. If BAMA has a qb that can do that, he didn't play today.

Ty Simpson has to be so pissed right now. I know that I would be if I was him.

He can't complete intermediate passes. You start throwing slants and we start throwing interceptions. I swear you guys only remember 4 plays per game

That’s not creating mismatches. His QB is average at best on short-mid-range passes. I do agree we should have ran more to the outside. I don’t really like defending Rees as he has his issues, but he’s limited by the QB, too. Not really a good combination. O-line was a disappointment as well.

Welp, I’ll say this team overachieved considering how they looked in the first few games of the season. Hopefully they can continue to improve for next year, who knows if they will. However, one thing is known, and that is Saban’s 300 lb lard arse O line plan did not work. They were not able to have the success in the run game or pass game, and the center…wow. I’m not defending Reese, I hated the hire and still do, but I’d imagine that glaring weakness hurts Reese on some level.

I don’t know how you fix the oline issues without putting the entire thing in the transfer portal, with the center going in head first.
