I was watching the game with a bunch of Gator fans and I could not understand why Shula was leaving the starters in that late. Had a bad feeling that something bad might happen a couple of plays before Prothro's injury.

To be fair to Shula, Nick has done the same thing. There's been games I've screamed at the TV for Saban to replace starters.

I was coming into my own as far as knowing how football worked. For the longest time I'd watch games with my dad and it was more entertaining to me to watch my dad. Alabama was BAD when I first started watching. I'll never forget how happy he was that year. Wasn't Alabama undefeated going into that Florida game?

Man we slapped them dudes. For some reason I can see 21-3 but that might be wrong.

Anyways, my dad was screaming to take Prothro and the rest of the starters out. They tried to tack on another TD and when Prothro came down in the endzone I looked at my dad and said, "he just snapped his leg." My dad said, "what? Leg?" And when they showed the replay he sank down in his chair and looked as defeated as he did when the team was getting murdered in the early 2000s. That injury was so brutal.

I wish I could have explained that better, but I'm drunk as hell.
