I'm nearly certain he can because the NCAA is being sued over transfer rules and waived the rules for this year on multi-transfers.

also, he's already entered the portal, which he couldn't do if he had to wait till April.

quote:

Multi-time transfers in football and other fall sports who transfer before the end of the 2023-24 academic calendar will be immediately eligible to participate in 2024-25, the NCAA clarified this week in guidance sent out to schools.

Last week, the organization announced a change to the policies for spring and winter athletes, allowing multi-transfers to compete immediately. The NCAA said the decision was “the best outcome for multiple-time transfer student-athletes wishing to compete immediately.”

As mentioned in the other thread:

I think you're misinterpreting what the preliminary injunction says. It doesn't give athletes the ability to transfer whenever they want.

It's only saying that if an athlete transfers during the 2023-2024 academic calendar, they are eligible to participate in the 2024-2025 season without sitting out.

He can't transfer before April 15th because the portal is closed. However, if he transfers during the Spring window, the 2023-2024 academic calendar hasn't ended, so he'd still be eligible for the 2024-2025 season.

Where are you seeing that he's officially in the portal? Only grad transfers can enter the portal whenever they want.

No, it is not. I'm telling you that he's not walking from Ohio State. They've given him money college safeties have never seen in NIL before his offer from Columbus. They were his backup choice to Alabama in recruitment. He was only at Alabama because of Nick Saban's pedigree with DBs.

He's not coming back. I'm thankful Kayden is coming back to grow with his teammates instead of playing in a miserable offense for the next two to three years in Iowa.

Might be easier in basketball. Or heck, maybe a guy can transfer and just play in the playoffs?

Is he transferring back immediately? Can he participate in spring practice?

He won't be able to transfer until April 15 when the spring transfer portal opens. Alabama is already practicing and A Day will be April 13.

College athletics has just about lost me. I mean, I know this will make the team I cheer for better, but it's just stupid. Realistically how far are we from guys leaving in the middle of the season and joining another team immediately? Sounds crazy but it feels like we're closer to that than we are to the old "transfer and sit" rules.

Agree 100%.

All this makes Coach Saban’s retirement seem so ….. well, ….. understandable.

Frankly, I suspect we are only a few MONTHS from seeing athletes (and not just a few) play the first 3-4 games at one school, and surface at a second program for the last few regular season games and the P_ayoffs.

The whole thing is just off the rails. :-(

I'm wondering when a young enterprising 5* QB will create an multiple offseason bidding wars for himself every season until he graduates. Start out his NFL career with 8 figures in the bank already.

Iowa NIL collective SWARM has released the following statement regarding Kadyn Proctor.

SWARM clarifies Proctor has not received funds from the collective, but from a contract with a sponsoring company through Swarm Inc.

So yes- Kadyn Proctor DID get a bag at Iowa. ??

Proctor is in T-town right now. While he can't practice with the team, Trusted he's getting training in on private side with instructions from the coaches provided. I've seen reports that he already lost some weight.
