No...we're not declining, it's just other schools are catching up.

Ole Miss, Auburn, LSU, and Texas A&M have all recruited well over the last 3-4 years. Yes, we have recruited better but the talent gap isn't as large as you might thing - especially when you take into account the youth and inexperience on the offensive side of the football.

The SEC West is a meat grinder because teams have been stepping up their game on the recruiting trail to compete with us. We still recruit better athletes but it's difficult to maintain when your best players are foregoing their senior year and turning pro on a consistent basis. We could have had Collins, Yeldon, and Cooper out there last night had they not turned pro.

This has been plaguing us since the very beginning. In 2010 we could have had McClain and Kareem Jackson back had they not gone pro. In 2011, we could have had Ingram, Dareus, and Julio out there had they not turned pro.

I agree but I also think that coaches and teams that lean more to the defensive side are really at a big disadvantage with the rules.

I think that you might not be able to win it all anymore with a super D and just average to good O like some Saban teams have done in the past.

I hate the HUNH! I hope Bama never goes to that total type of philosophy but I am afraid we are being left behind.
