Everyones talking about the offense and rightfully so but I was also pretty disappointed with the defenses effort in OT. Corum ran it two times for 25 yards and a TD.

We had contained their running game pretty well up to that point, going into OT he had 17 rushes for 55 yards.

Would have been huge to hold them to a fg.

I really believe they were gassed, and it was 2016 all over again.

The offense could have put it away. That milroe fumble was pretty critical.

It sucks to hold them accountable because when your legs turn into jello all youre running on at that point is heart. I hate it.

I think we were playing zone and they just gashed us.

If it makes you feel any better once they tied it and it became a chess match between the coordinators it was over. Im not impressed with Rees. Defense played well enough to win IMO.

We will never know what would have happen if we extend our drive with the roughing the kicker no call, and the defense runs a few less snaps, and maybe they dont score and we do... never know.

We ran 66 offensive plays and they ran 59. Our defense shouldn’t have been any more gassed than theirs was.

I think we had a two minute TOP advantage also which shocked me, but how else do explain it ? They didnt quit.

Again its kinda moot because at that point they had out coached us and they were kicking our arse from the sideline and the field.

I mean, there were some bad breaks but once they started making a move they just flat out beat us.

Our defense held them to 20 points in regulation. What else could you ask for ?

This ones on the offense for sure

I think they may be the best team this year. You could tell they were playing with extra motivation after making it to the playoffs and being eliminated in the first round the past two years. We still could have beat them but we would’ve had to play our A game and we definitely didn’t, Michigan had a lot to do with that.

Hopefully we can use this playoff loss to fuel us and motivate us to get back win it all next season.

Plus the commercial breaks went on forever. There is no way the defense was gassed.

We won a national championship game by 16 points where we passed for 58 yards and zero TDs.

First of all, thats not remotely fair- might as well find some game we won 60 years ago without attempting a pass at all running the wishbone.

College, NFL, nobody winning a playoff game with 116yds 0TD and a QB fumble.

Which is why I asked the board today when was the last time you could remember having such blah play at RB.

That 2009 team didnt have to throw the ball. They had two RBs that could carry a team.

Heisman RB Mark Ingram, and MFBA Trent Richardson.

If mark ingram and trent richardson was pounding the rock against Michigan maybe we do win with 116yds passing. Got to have one or the other, but we had neither. No pass game, no rushing attack

It was with our current head coach.

That 2009 team absolutely needed Greg McElroy to lead them to victory against Florida in the SEC Championship Game.

Naturally.

But the issue on Monday was a comedy of errors, playcalling, penalties and the defense laying down in the final 5 minutes.

Yep. People have said this a lot and the truth is the defense just fell apart after the 4th down. There was no good reason for it. They just couldn't get it done.

We had over a 4-and-half minute TOP advantage for the game…and about a 6 minute or so TOP advantage in the second half. If the defense was gassed, it wasn’t the offense’s fault…

Yeah, fifteen some odd years ago when teams actually did used to win games 20-13, or even 10-3

Those kinda scores still pop up sometimes, but that's a real anomaly now.

The defense held them to 20 points in modern day ball, and our offense should be able to score more than 20 points against any team in the country. Our offense sucks. Blame it on Rees, blame it on the center, blame it on milroe, blame it on Saban, whoever, but the Offense sucked arse all year.

Look guys, If someone told you before the game started that Michigan would score only 20 points who here is going to say they wouldn't take that in a heartbeat, and feel certain that Bama would win the game ?

Speak now. I want to know who thinks the defense shite the bed giving up 20 points in a playoff game.

It was the offense. If you cant score over 20 in reg then you deserve to go home.

Washington nearly scored 40 points on that Texas D and that was after some turnovers.

Alabama would need 8 quarters of football to score 40 points on Texas.

They didn't shite the bed the entire game, but when the game was on the line (and we were up by 7) they didn't get the job done.

That's undeniable.

In modern college football, if the opposing team has 13 points with under two minutes to play, that game should be a runaway blowout in your favor.
