Pre-dates haf the response lyrics.

Only "on Beer... roll tide...against the wall... all night" exist.

I remember Dixieland Delight had become a mainstay in the PA rotation more and more during the Shula years. I'm too young to account for anything prior.

Was in that student section they zoom in on. Memory is real hazy from 2008. I do know that it was hella fun though.

I was also in the student section that day. My memory of the evolution of Dixieland Delight is a little fuzzy. The first time I heard it and some of the responses was at ESPN College GameDay for the 2007 Georgia game. By 2009 or 2010 the student section (particularly the Greek section) had started to incorporate "Against the wall!" and "F**k Auburn!" into the song.

My memories as a student and the stadium go back far before the Dixieland Delight timeline. The stadium was lower bowl only. I think the capacity was 68,000. The "seats" were alternating sections of red or white fiberglass caps over bench seats. The red cap paint was sun damaged such that on a hot sweaty day, the red paint would stain your pants, particularly on the sun facing east side of the stadium. And the playing surface was an awful turf that had been there long enough that the blades were tilted toward the sideline from the water runoff of the field crown. When the field was wet, cutting toward the sideline had great traction, cutting back toward the middle of the field was like running on wet ice. If you went down going up hill toward the crown, you spent Saturday night and Sunday picking turf blades out of the turf burns where you had exposed skin. Coach Bryant had the team on what is now the visitor's sideline so the players were facing the camera. He wanted the Mommas and Daddies to be able to see the players faces on TV.

I like the Dixieland Delight tradition far better than picking turf blades out of your skin.

I'm so old, I remember when we did the Rammer Jammer before the game. "We're gonna beat the hell outta you."

Hey, I remember that. The last itteration that is.

Before every kick off, we'd play Gary Glitter's Rock N Roll like every arena in the country in the 90s. Wasn't till he revealed himself to be a bag of shite that everyone nixed it for covers or marching band versions.

Here's one from the 2012 Iron Bowl where we only say: "F**k Auburn!"

YouTube

By November of 2013, "...and LSU! And Tennessee, too!" were finally added.

I believe the AD banned the MDB from doing that in 2002 or 2003.

Yep, I miss those days. The students just had to keep adding stuff and now it’s just dumb.

I wish we would either go back to doing it before the game or stop doing it altogether. Let’s be real, waiting til after we win to talk trash is kind of a weak move. Especially when we do it after somebody like Chattanooga. I don’t care if it’s “tradition.”

That's why I think it was a Mike Shula mentally whoop'd era AD decision. "We can't motivate the other team's players and fans by playing RJ cheer constantly before the game."

The last time I can remember hearing it before kick in person was Dubose’s debut against Houston. 1997 I think.

It really is a good pregame cheer. RTR. We should bring it back for SECCG.

Imagine how much better it would be if they just reserved it only for the big games, right before Thunderstruck. As the players are walking through the tunnel all they can hear is their fans screaming “we’re gonna beat the hell outta you” at the other team.
