Metchie is a huge loss but Brooks, Slade, Jahleel, and the others are all capable of combining to somewhat give us what Metchie brought to the table.

Metchie probably won't be here next year anyway, so these elite young receivers are going to get a great start on 2022, the same way Smith, Juedy, and Ruggs did 4 years ago, against the same team no less.

I don’t think people realize how good brooks actually is. Two games he’s played in, he busted the def with a deep route.

Yeah that is why I am not freaking out about no Metchie for this game.

How many touchdowns did Metchie score against UGA? How many catches?

First half 97 yards on 6 receptions and a td.

We don't need Brooks to be a burner for us.

Can he run good routes? Can he recognize the creases in the defense and get open.
Didn’t happen much against Cincy except designed plays.

Billingsly

Would love to see him as a big part of the plan. He has the talent and has been relatively underutilized this year, so likely not a lot of scheme prep for him

Same here.

LSU and Auburn brought the heat every snap, and it looked like we rarely had a hot route called or open. As far as I could tell, BoB didnt make any meaningful/effective adjustments.

I'd be amazed if Kirby doesn't bring more pressure this round.

2 things:
Brooks has legit speed. I think Brooks is better than Metchie and that's not a slight at Metchie. There's a reason why we didn't show much against Cincy. With Brooks, we have new wrinkles.

Georgia will not duplicate LSU game plan: LSU brought the house blitzes almost all the time... they took a huge risk. THey had nothing to lose in that game. It does not benefit Georgia to use LSU plan because their Secondary isn't good and Young/BOB will be ready for that.

Auburn game plan: Georgia probably won't use the game plan because I think both team use different scheme/how they set it up. So doesn't benefit them at all.

What Georgia can do is do what they did in second half, and keep doing that. they have to be careful about that because Bama will be ready for that. Georgia most likely will do same thing they did last time but blitiz little more. They know They can stay in game for 3 quarters, but Offense gotta show up.

There were safety valves, Bryce either didn't see them or didn't want to pull the trigger.

This is what it comes down to. If UGA runs the same game plan as the SECC game, then we know how that ends. If UGA dials up the pressure, then we will hopefully utilize the hot routes. Haven't seen it all year with any consistency. I'm very happy to have BRob at what appears to be 100%. I just wanted to see more of Brooks against Cincy but I'm hoping we just held off.

The last part of that is a major understatement. Maybe closer to the mark to say that we've not seen it all year with dogged consistency. Going to be a frustrating offensive performance if we're facing well-placed blitzes.

Why would Nick Saban tab #19 as a big part of any plan? There is just something not right about the play of the guy this year.

It fights against tendencies and a variety of routes and matchups that Billingsley can take advantage of. I don't think he's OJ Howard athletic, but could be a key piece that UGA may not be accounting for as strongly considering his drop in impact this year

Christian Leary wasn't thrown to or handed the ball one time on Friday. I'm not sure if that was by design or the coaches trusted other receivers more. Regardless, his speed is something that has to be considered in some way. He can absolutely fly.

When Billingsley is dialed in and focused he's a weapon. We saw it multiple times last year and he's made some big catches this year. They dialed up his number on the fourth down against Auburn.

Some of you people have no confidence at all.

Were you to say... "it could be a frustrating offensive performance if we're facing well-placed blitzes"...then I could agree it's possible, but to just declare it will be frustrating is just a defeatist attitude.

True, but he is hardly ever "dialed in" on blocking. Big liability there

Well he's had 14 games to get it dialed up. Rewatch the Cincy game and zero in on 19 and his effort. He doesn't even need shoulder pads. He is a All American Lollygagger

Skip: You guys. You lollygag the ball around the infield. You lollygag your way down to first. You lollygag in and out of the dugout. You know what that makes you? Larry!

Larry: Lollygaggers!

Skip: Lollygaggers.
