Not sure how old this is but still very interesting...

I'm in favor of it. I think it's pretty apparent that the old model of amateur athletics no longer works with the explosion of money surrounding big time college football. I hate to admit it but you can't keep the free market away from these players when they have so much value. Creating a new division and paying players is the first step toward transforming big time college football into a semi-pro league loosely affiliated with colleges and that's what will happen eventually.
