New shoe contract negotiations?

Pardon me if I’m mistaken but I believe Bama’s horrible contract with Nike runs thru 2025. I’m wondering when those discussions start. Anyone with any idea?
Surely to God, Greg Byrne can negotiate a much, much better one than Bill Battle did this time around. When Bama is getting paid by Nike about 10% of what they’re paying Texas and OSU, something is seriously wrong or Bill Battle was the worst negotiator in the history of college football.
Personally, I don’t care which company Bama goes with but let’s be brutally honest here, it’s going to be Nike or Air Jordan (pretty much same thing).
If Adidas could offer way more than Nike, I’d be OK with them but Adidas simply to this point hasn’t been willing to fork over anywhere near the same kind of money that Nike has.
Under Armor? Same as Adidas, they won’t even be in the same ballpark as Nike.

My conspiracy theory is - put on your tinfoil hats - Bill Battle negotiated that Nike deal in bad faith for UA. He was a long time administrator of the collegiate apparel licensing organization and had pre-existing relationships with Nike and others. He was on his way out the door, since he was a loaner AD due to the death of Mal Moore, and he gave Nike a sweetheart deal with UA Athletics since he'd never be held responsible for such a poor negotiation.

When a flagship brand is up for grabs, companies will find money. UA or Adidas may decide to go big for one of the top brands in the game.
That said, Battle really f-d us. Hate to say it but our brand value without Saban went down considerably. If this contract ended during his tenure Bama would have a monumental payday looking at them. Second factor is that they are finally officially referring to the economic conditions a recession. Renegotiating going into or coming out of a tough economy will drive value down as well. The length of the previous contract was tough to swallow as well. No way at a time when brand value was increasing year by year that Battle should have locked us into such a lengthy and poorly valued contract.
Battle left so much money on the table that a Basketball arena could have been easily paid for with money that should have been in that contract. It was downright criminal of him.

If the AD signs a deal with Under Armor, we riot.

Depends on the money. If Under Armor is willing to pay double of what Nike or the next highest bidder is willing to pay, I’m all for it.
Frankly, I wouldn’t care if it was Sketchers as long as it’s absurdly more than Nike (e.g. 10 times more).
It’s all about the $$$$$$.

Which “they” do you mean? We are not in a recession. I haven’t read of anybody saying we are. There are always bull vs bear predictors, but the S&P is rocking.

Even though their apparel is not as good as others , kids ( most) wanna play at Nike schools and wear that swoosh…. I am sure they could come up with some good looking Unis for UA but every time I think of Adidas , I think of those ugly arse Tex AM uniforms

Most kids prefer Nike/Air Jordan, especially when they look weird/hideous to the casual observer. The more ugly/weird they look, the more popular they are.

Nike has a better selection of gear and the athletes receive a nice assortment of clothing, jackets, shoes and other gear.

Do not want a guy with a basketball on the football uniform.
Nike or Under Armour should win the bid I'm sure. Id love for Armour to win it because frick Nike after that last deal. They can go to hell.

We are about to enter a major depression thanks to ridiculously low interest rates since 1990s.

I still don’t see how Bill Battle became such a “successful businessman.” Oh right Bryant pretty much set the company up for him.
